My need was a charger at reasonable cost, didn't stick out to catch things, well built and more amperage. My previous charger stuck out and would be hit shifting into 5th gear, wobbled in socket and was only 1.2A. This AINOPE charger fits my needs - doubles the amps per outlet, has 2 outlets, is heavy metal construction and very low profile. It fits securely in the dash, but is not hard to remove. These are excellent, durable construction cigarette lighter adapters with both USB slots rated at 2.4a each. This higher amperage delivers rapid charging of cell phones and other devices. Unfortunately, they don't exactly fit as flush as illustrated in some 12v sockets. The side contacts could benefit from stiffer springs to help keep the adapter firmly seated in the socket because the bottom pin's internal spring is too stiff by comparison. The one I put in my wife's Subaru Forester will not stay inserted to the socket's full depth due to the bottom pin's spring tension and will occasionally vibrate out of position enough to lose contact, and when this happens it defeats the intended purpose of powering the dashcam I installed or charging a cellphone with the second cable. The LEDs only serve their purpose when the USB port is not occupied by a cable -- having a visible LED outside the socket would provide the confidence that it is working as it should . . . especially since the dashcam is mounted between the rear view mirror and the windshield, and you cannot see that it is powered off when that happens (you would only recognize the problem the next time you start the car and don't hear the start up sound of the dashcam or the charging beep on a phone). ... show more
