I recently purchased the Captiva Designs Propane Gas Grill and Charcoal Grill Combo for my summer parties. It's a spacious grill with one side running on propane, heating up quickly and easily. The other side uses charcoal, which is my favorite, but it takes a little longer to heat up. The grill is lightweight and has wheels, making it easy to move around. The media could not be loaded. This is a grill that requires a separate gas tank to be connected. It has the benefit I think of having four simultaneous fire-breathing pipes at the same time as having an additional burner that can hold a burner pan. The shelves that extend out on either side of it are very useful. I use them for oil and salt on one side and raw veggies and meats on the other. This grill is perfect for small gatherings and the temperature sensing on top of the stove is very sensitive. I can clearly tell the temperature inside the oven. Do Not Buy this BBQ if you are looking for one that is going to last and is more or less comparable to other manufactures such as CharbBroil of NexGrill for a similar price. If you want to be frustrated by the lack of written assembly instructions (there are pictures to follow but lack of information make it too easy to build incorrectly) and settle for cheaply made parts then this is one you want. I'm comparing it to a four burner Charbroil grill I bought about 4 years ago and the difference is night and day, build and component quality just do not measure up. I would have returned it but until you unbox it and start assembling it with the fifty different screws it takes its too late. Home Depot has a NexGrill four burner without the side burner for $199 that is way better made. Steer clear of this one.... I haven't tried cooking with it yet so I can't comment how well it works, my dissatisfaction comes form the realization I'll need to buy another grill in a couple of years or if they ever make replacement parts available, rebuild it. My husband and I are very happy with this grill. The box arrived in perfect condition. From opening the box to lighting up the grill took about 2.5 hours. That included separating out all the pieces and labeling those that did not have a numbered sticker on them. I was in charge of making sure all the parts were in the box and I especially liked the manual which had not only pictures of the parts but descriptions of each item. I was also in charge of reading the instructions and handing my husband the parts for assembling. Just a couple of observations which don’t affect our rating of this grill. Spaces are pretty small so people with larger hands may have a challenge. The grease tray is already inserted into the lid and body assembly so don’t look for it in the box. When the instructions on page 12 say to “remove bottom and two sides of shipping protective metal brackets before further assembly,” these parts are actually metal, not the usual packing materials. Further, page 15 of the manual talks about the “corrugated pipe and ignition wire.” These were a bit difficult to actually find – at least for me. They are in bubble wrap and need to be pulled out of the holes in the inside front of the grill (behind the control knobs). Finally, this grill has a rotisserie option we did not buy. As a result, there are two openings on either side of the grill we think may allow for too much heat to escape. I did grill steaks on this grill after we put it together and they came out great despite the heat that may have escaped. In my opinion, this is a 2-person job to put together but my husband and I did well and are still married! ... show more

After looking at several reviews, I knew that it was going to be a bit of a challenge to put this grill together. The instructions aren’t completely clear, and the parts are packed in non-intuitive ways. One or two panels were already bent in the shipping case. But it all eventually came together. Not too happy that there was already a bit of rust showing on one spot (see photo). If I were to order again, I’d probably go with the stainless steel model. Still, I’m looking forward to grilling. And I think this is a good value for the features that come with this grill. ... show more
