  • Great
Style: Black/Gray
My husband and son love this. Build quality is great. Sturdy, not too heavy. Very easy to use. Very versatile. Is stable and easy to function.

Got this on a sale. Great value for 70 bucks. Good for what I use it for: general fitness and resistance training. Not a big bench, pretty small. Is designed to work with 5 ft bars. Tested with a 4 ft ez curl bar and it works too, not the most comfortable but it works. Doesn’t look like it would be great for serious or intermediate lifters but it should be fine for what I plan to use it for. Decent enough for beginners and people that are not looking to go heavy. Pros: relatively cheap. Pretty stable. Comfortable enough. Simple design. Can bench with it. All told, a budget set up that provides value for newbies that just want something simple. Cons: weight limit of the rack is listed as 150 lbs and bench is listed at 350 with the leg extension listed at 50lb limit. So if you are a big person looking for something to use at home, not the best option. Hard to assemble because you need outside tools. ... show more

  • Decent light duty weight bench.
Style: Black/Gray
update 10/19/2018 - too narrow, too short. I don't have wide shoulders, but it's too narrow for me. I have to be careful re-racking the barbell when doing non close grip bench or I can pinch my hands between bar and rests. Also too short for much of an incline bench. It was useful for almost a year. Takeaway: Definitely for pre-adolescent sized folks. Not bad for light weight use. It's a bit short (as in not for tall people). As someone else stated, additional bracing at the "head" end would help a lot. I also think the two square tubes that support the back bench could be placed a little further apart for durability. I only found one cold weld and one "missed" weld. Fortunately, the side of the tube that didn't get welded let me see the fit up before welding, and it was good and tight. In retrospect, I kind of wish I'd purchased a bench with chest fly ability, but might make that addition to the Cap bench myself. Assembly is quick and easy and all nuts and bolts were threaded cleanly and correctly. I've assembled hundreds of both domestic and Chinese manufactured items such as grills, tools, and furniture - this bench was among the top 10% in ease of assembly thanks to no manufacturing defects. Edit - It's been a few months, so I thought I would update. The bench is holding up pretty good. All fasteners are still nice and tight. Leg extensions and leg curls are rather uncomfortable; when I do them I'm reminded how this thing must be made for pre-adolescent sized people. The pivot point will pinch you if your not careful and the pads are so narrow that it is hard to find the balance between not getting pinched and not working the pads off the end. I can accept this, as I prefer squats instead. The only real negative I have with it is that it cannot be configured for doing seated/military presses. I don't think it is advertised for this, so it's not the bench's fault - just that if you plan on doing these (which you either do or will do), it isn't going to happen safely with this bench. Summing things up - definitely limited with activities you can do, weight ability, and user size. It wins with price and price-quality-value. ... show more

  • Too shaky even for 100lbs
Style: Black/Gray
Towers move front to back b/c there is no bar from bottom of towers to the bench leg (small tower bar where leg weights are placed. With 100lbs on, it does not stay still, very dangerous.

  • Inexpensive but not overly impressive
Style: Black/Gray
14 year old son built it - easy to build. Not very sturdy - wiggles too much and feels very unstable. The leg extension portion is too short for my frame at 6'2". Fine for lower weights, but if you want to do anything serious, buy something else.

  • Great value for a sturdy weight bench - up to 350 pounds.
Style: Black/Gray
I was a bit concerned with this purchase, as others have noted missing pieces, a wobbly product, and a number of other issues. Mine had no such issues. The assembly instructions are very vague and did require a fair amount of scrutiny to get the correct screws where they go, but once I did, this thing feels very solid. My primary concern with buying a low-end bench was the distance between the uprights. This one is exactly 24" between the poles, meaning you must grip the bar at that distance to do presses. I thought that seemed terribly low, but measuring the distance between my hands with a tape measure (before purchase) it didn't seem like it would be that uncomfortable. After assembling it and putting it to use, I'd think it could use an extra couple of inches there, but it feels fairly natural to do presses at that width -for a man who is 5'10" and 180ish pounds. The safety rests are a nice feature if you typically lift alone, however they seem to be spaced oddly for such use. I can use them, but it requires either sitting the bar about an inch above my chest or pressing it 85% of the way back to the top. I hope I'm never in a position that I can't lift it off my chest at all or that I give up that close to the top. Obviously this would vary if you used it at an incline. Overall, this bench deserves five stars. It's a great value, and feels very sturdy when assembled. The weight limit for the bench is listed at 350 pounds (including you and what you're lifting) and under that load, it feels very stable. I can't yet speak for the durability of the unit, but there aren't a great many pieces that could fail. If you're looking for a bench for casual lifting (or, like me, you can't do push-ups anymore because your age has made the pain in your shoulders, wrists, and elbows unbearable when you do) this is a great bench. Having said that, the specific design of the support between the bench and uprights makes me think that you don't want to exceed the manufacturer's specification by much. If you're a heavier person, or plan to do some serious weight training, you might want to look at one in a higher price bracket. ... show more
