  • Worth every penny...
Style: 80lbs
Alright, so I got this vest in the mail...and the packaging was torn to pieces. I didn't have high hopes about the condition of the vest and the weights, but I opened it up and...All the weights were sitting in a pile at the bottom of the box. The vest itself was still wrapped up in the original plastic. I checked over the weights, they all look good, and the right number as well. The vest is the real winner though. I love it. This vest has shoulder pads that are wide enough so that the don't cut into your shoulders, and they are decently thick. Not to say that I can't feel the weight, but it doesn't hurt. The vest is a decent size. It is big enough that it holds all of the weight, but small enough that it doesn't get in the way while I am walking around. I am still pretty big right now, and have been working on losing weight, so getting this vest allows me to increase the weight I carry when walking. I pretty much will add back each pound I lose by way of the vest, keeping my body working. So I am 6'4", 300lbs. and the vest fits. Now I don't have any extra room in it, but I can still breathe easily with it on. The vest is sturdy and I don't feel like I will have to worry about it falling apart any time soon. On the vest there are pockets for the sandbags to slide into. There are both "double" pockets, and "single" pockets. I found that getting the sandbags into the single pockets, all you have to do is hold the bag by one end and let the sand fall to the other. Now lay down the sandbag, with the "empty" side toward the pocket. Slide it in as far as you can, then lift up the entire vest, allowing the sand in the bag to start filling out the end of the sandbag that is already in the pocket. Then just shake the vest up and down, and the sandbag slides right in. I just wouldn't want to fight putting it in and taking it out a lot. Overall, even though the packaging was damaged, I feel that this vest is going to work for me for a very long time, the price was great, and I can start at lower weight and work my way up. As of right now, the 80lb vest is the best price per pound, drastically so actually. I was planning on the 40 or 60 until I realized the 60 and 80 cost almost the exact same. And this vest is worth twice what it cost. Great bargain, without giving up quality. ... show more

  • A lot better than I expected! Great price
Style: 30lbs-F
I was hesitant to buy this vest because the price seemed too good to be true. I'm glad I did it. It has no cons. It fits great. I am a female, petite with large breasts and I am able to make it work comfortably and secure it tightly around my waist. Ideal for rucking too. It is a great buy, great investment. Quality product which I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Solid Vest, Loose When Fully Tightened, Will Limit Range of Motion on Push Ups
Style: 20lbs-S
So mine arrived with zero problems and zero condition issues. There were some things that attracted me to this vest...it's short. I'm short, so I think that's a good match. I didn't want to have this grazing my knees among other things, because my primary use for this is on my stair case, skipping steps on the way up for high step ups, my version of a stair stepper if you will. The Velcro is very sturdy, and very, very loud. So sometimes I prefer not to mess with the straps because I don't want to wake up my son. When I do use the straps however, I have noticed that there's a pretty goodly gap between my chest and the product. So if I were to be using this to supplement bodyweight exercises like hip hinges (which kind of looks like a good morning with a barbell), I'd have to hold this to my chest to support it and keep it from flapping around. It is a little bit hard to say if this would be a problem for you. I'm a woman, but a large framed woman who is a the very bottom of the healthy weight range for my height. Who happened to somehow with all my hormone problems inherit the buxom gene. So that means, I've definitely got some stuff in the chest area that I would have expected this would be snug on, but even with the straps cinched to their tightest, it's loose with a gap when I lean. I think definitely if you are a smaller framed woman, or a woman with a smaller bust, this is going to be too loose for you for some activities. I'm not sure what to say to the dudes that would be helpful, just depending on your chest measurements, you may have the same issue. So for me personally, I like that this has weight evenly distributed between the front and the back. I certainly could have loaded up a back pack for cheaper, but then I'd have stuff digging into my back as the items shifted with my movement, which I'm not a fan of, and for me personally, as I mentioned, I prefer the nice, even distribution of weight because it pulls less on my shoulders. However, I have to say, if I were interested in using this to supplement pushups, uh-uh. I personally wouldn't use this for that. There's no way I could get a full range of motion with it given the bust plus the vest, so if you are a woman, that's another thing to consider. Even if you are a man, this does stick out a bit in front, and it may limit your range of motion, and a limited range of motion doesn't provide as much benefit as a full range of motion. My bottom line on this product is that it seems to be solidly made, it does work for what I wanted it for, but I do think the looseness and the amount it sticks out in the front are limiting factors to the usefulness of this product for certain exercises. ... show more

  • Budget vest good introduction
Style: 20lbs-C v.2
Can’t beat the price. As my routine intensifies I’ll opt for one of the pricier ones because they are more durable and have better weight distribution. But this vest was great to build a new habit. Shortened my mile run time !
