  • Great starter plane!
For $42 this is a great starter plane for anyone wanting to get into the hobby. Great battery life. My 3 year old son and I fly it together he’s able to fly it and every now and then I jump on to stear him out of trouble, but he loves it! We’ve nose dove it multiple times into the ground and it just keeps on flying! I totally recommend! ... show more

  • Durable, but DON'T loose that nose cone
The "for Kids" part of the item title is a little deceiving. In the product description it does say 14+, but when I hear "for Kids" I think 8-10 years old, not teenagers. The plane is remarkably durable surviving several nose dives straight into the ground, but the little rubber nose cone is easy to lose and with out it, it's like flying a brick, especially if there is any kind of wind. It's not hard to fly, but it does take some finesse to fly without immediately crashing. It also takes some tuning on the wings to get it to fly well. So it makes it hard to recommend "for Kids", but it's still fun as an adult to play around with. ... show more

  • Not as easy to fly as you might think depending on what you're used to.
I recently picked up 2 RC planes and this was one of them. Picked this one up, because the price was good and my kid liked the design. The other plane I picked up was more expensive and was a more pedestrian prop trainer plane style. Having flown the other plane first that has more control due to a gyro and moving flaps and rudder, this one was a bit more difficult to get used to and pick up. The difficulty with this plane is that there is no elevation control. It only has throttle and steering that goes left or right. This plane uses no flaps for control, so really everything is controlled by the 2 prop motors on the wings. Steering for this plane is achieved by having one motor throttle up more than the other rather than using flaps. Altitude is controlled by throttle which is the part that really took a lot of getting used to. If you go full throttle, the plane will pitch up. If you decrease throttle, the plane will glide a little bit, but eventually start going lower. Having the plane at half throttle or bit lower will keep the plane flying level for the most part with a gradual climb. You can see how this would be a little bit hard to control if you were coming from a plane that uses the right stick to control altitude via use of wing flaps. Instead of controlling altitude with flaps, you're not controlling altitude with throttle speed using the left stick. If the plane goes into a dive, it's very hard to pull out of it if you don't have enough room for your throttling to pitch the plane back upwards. As you can imagine, there were quite a few dive crashes, although the plane is just fine due to the rubber nose cone that keeps popping off. It does indeed save the plane, but it can be a pain sometimes to keep putting it back on. I'd much rather it be glued on, but still stay flexible. Needless to say my son had a much harder time flying this plane than the other one with flap controls. Once you get the hang of it, you can fly it decently enough, but you won't have the fine control of the flight like some other planes with flaps. Another thing to be aware of is to only use about half throttle on take off. It took me a while to figure that out as I kept trying to launch the plane with full throttle which promptly makes it pitch up and then back down into a dive towards the ground. I don't think this is a true beginner plane especially if you're around 10yrs of age. I think a plane with a gyro and movable wing flaps are more suitable for beginners. Given that though, once you get the hang of how this plane works you can fly it decently enough, but it just doesn't allow you to do some more adventurous maneuvers due to the lack of any type of flap controls. ... show more

  • Great Entry Point to RC Airplane Flying
This is a great beginner RC airplane that comes with literally everything you'd need to get started (apart from flying lessons). If you're coming from quadcopter / drone flying, there is a learning curve (especially with throttle control), so make sure you give yourself a WIDE open area to get your bearings. Comparably, these beginner RC planes are a fair bit lighter than beginner RC quadcopters, so they're very sensitive to wind gusts. They're lightweight, but have a lot of surface area to make them glide well. Fortunately, they've included a crash-proof rubberized "nose" for the plane that squishes and even pops off if you happen to have a head-on crash. The light weight means it is easily pushed around, yes, but it also means that most slow to medium speed impacts will not cause a total wreckage. It's got a great look and they included an extra battery and props to keep you flying for a good long time while you learn. Overall, I'd say the price is just right for everything you get, just make sure to give yourself LOTS of room to learn. ... show more

  • Fun beginner RC plane that's extremely durable
I was actually pretty surprised by the durability of this plane. The Styrofoam is very dense and doesn't feel like it'll break very easily. I've flown it a few times inside and once outside and so far it's taken all of my crashes without any issues. So this is a fantastic plan for beginners. I do want to mention that it provides all except for a up or down directional movement which I found very strange. So what you do is throw the plane and it'll go straight and you can move it left or right but it cannot go up and down so essentially your setting the altitude when you throw it. other than that though I sincerely enjoyed playing with this as it is very beginner friendly and comes with extra batteries and extra propeller props so if something does happen you're not out of playing with this RC plane. ... show more
