I was not expecting incredible quality but was looking for a long red puffer coat. This coat is gorgeous. Not only is it absolutely beautiful it is the warmest winter coat I’ve ever owned. I live on the east side of the cascades in the PNW and it gets cold af some days/nights. This is perfect and the hood is big which… I have no idea why anyone is complaining about that. It actually covers your whole head, it’s not just for looks. It’s a very functional coat too with all the pockets in all the right places. It’s actual down inside the coat and from wearing it in a mix of snow and rain, it’s absolutely waterproof. Even at its full price, I would splurge on this coat given what I know about it now. Which btw… go to Canada Gear online and look at their prices on their website. This coat is extra warm. Very heavy, yet super comfortable. Fit snug on me. I could have went a size up if I want to layer wirh a sweater, but i have not had to layer at all even in the February Chicago weather. Super warm.

This coat felt very well made and was warm from what I experienced. The sleeves were a TAD short for me, I'm 5'10" and 140 pounds. Bought a medium. The hood is a bit much, I have a long neck and a bigger head so my mom says and I pulled the hood up and could not see. With and without the fur. I appreciate a big hood, but this thing is way too big. The reason I returned was the front pockets, they are way too high. For me the pockets were on my ribs making it very awkward to put my hands in the pockets or even get anything out of them. I'm sure for a different body type, shorter, this coat would probably be perfect. I sure wanted it to be, but it deserves a 4 star because it was very well made. ... show more

We moved to Michigan two years ago and I have been buying Columbia jackets since then. Saw this and took a chance on it and OMG! This is the best coat I have ever owned. A winter dog walk game changer for sure! I am chronically cold. Seriously. I’m that person. This coat kept me warm at 0400 on a 30 min outdoor excursion trying to get Sir Huxtable Huxley to take a poopsie. I’ve seen reviews about the zipper or buttons, and I just received it yesterday, but if I have any issues, it will be well worth the money for repair. BUY IT! Update: I’ve worn the coat a couple times now. No problems with the zipper, but I CAN tell it’s very cheap, so I plan to take it to a local seamstress and get the zipper replaced before it has a chance to malfunction. Still 100% worth it! This was the BEST purchase/investment I have made. I wore this coat to Canada this past month (February) and needless to say I only felt the cold on my face.
