    • Adjustable garden rake is super useful, easy to assemble, though difficult to adjust
I got this adjustable garden rake to use in my garden beds, which has lots of mulch and weeds. It was pretty easy to assemble. The instructions on how to make the rake head expand and contract were unclear, though. I figured out that the rake head’s width is locked when the black plastic lever near the head is pointing upwards (towards the handle). To unlock it, you push the lever downward (towards the head). Then, you can slide the black plastic ring up or down, and it changes the width of the rake. Overall, adjusting this rake is a little bit tricky. It tends to get stuck into position and then suddenly gets unstuck when you apply enough pressure to adjust it. If you have a hard time with it, it might help to spray it with some kind of degreaser or lubricant spray. Despite the slight difficulty in adjusting the rake, I really love the adjustable width of the head. It comes in really handy in my garden, where changing the rake width can help me get into tight corners or avoid hurting plants. It will be awesome when I use it to spread some mulch on my beds tomorrow.     • Easy to adjust, but maybe too short for taller people
First, there are already plenty of photos, so I won't crowd this review with more. This rake is great. It has a handle (pole) that can be separated into two parts; one part has the rake permanently attached. Personally, I leave it connected and hang it on the rack as one piece. The head of rake (the metal that catches the leaves) is easily adjustable. Just pull down the plastic lever and slide it up or down. As you slide it down, the metal extends outwards and separates (widens). The handle is also extendable. Twist it counter clockwise to unlock the telescopic handle and pull it out. Then twist is clockwise to lock it in place. Fully extended, it is about 63" total length. What I like about this is that I can pull in the head (metal) to make it narrower to catch the small oak leaves we have here. It does make the reach shorter, but at my height it works alright. If you're taller, then you might have to bend more while raking. That is really the only thing I see that could be better on this. A longer handle to compensate if you adjust the head to rake smaller leaves. ... show more

    • What a great adjustable rake, Well made and useful
There are some nice features that this rake has. The handle is not only adjustable, but the leaf rake head is also adjustable. There are times that you need a rake that can not only get to clear out large swaths of leaves, but there are also times that you need to get in between shrubs and bushes too. The adjustable rake head can accomplish both tasks. Being able to adjust the handle length is nice too, though you might not need to do this that often. But when you do need to, you can. This rake is made with sturdy, yet lightweight metal. The handle feels balanced and the tines are very sturdy.     • Exceeded Expectations- Functional, Easy to Use, Versatile
This retractable leaf and garden rake is fantastic. I have an old one that I have had for many years and the tines are finally starting to go. I had been hesitant to replace it as it has served me so well. When I took this new one out of the package I was a bit skeptical. It didn't seem as well made as my old one, but then again what is anymore. Well, I'm not sure if it is made to last as long, but it certainly preforms. This rake opened easily, locked nicely, and raked the walkway of my rural property with ease. Large bunches of damp leaves, old acorns, small wood scraps, the occasional rock- no problem. I would have never guessed it from looking at it. Exceeded expectations for sure. Although I don't expect it to last the thirty years or so that the old one did, I am thrilled with this product. I got this rake for the option to adjust the width. It assembled with just a click of a button and the handle extends to a comfortable length. There is a lever on the top part of the rake portion that slides back and forth and then locks down to adjust the width of the rake (see pics). It takes only a couple of seconds to adjust. No more trying to squeeze the rake between spaces and no more having to change tools in the middle of the job. Also, I have xeriscaping with decomposed granite. When leaves fall on it, I need something with a lighter touch to drag the leaves off without disturbing the base. This is a perfect weight to do that. Five stars. ... show more

    • Love it, but the handle is a problem
I love this little rake. The narrow part is just the right size to get between my flower plants or to use in my raised bed. With the wide part extended, it's like a normal rake. I like the fact that it's very lightweight. I have a lot of gravel and river rock, and this is light enough that I can rake the pinecones and leaves without getting a lot of rock with them. There is a problem the handle, though. I like that it has a little button to hold the pieces together (like the extensions on a vacuum). But the pieces fit so tightly together that I was unable to do it. I had to get my husband to force the two pieces together, and now I can't get them apart. Not sure if it's the coating that made it fit so tightly or that there just wasn't enough clearance in the first place. But it's very annoying and I had to subtract 2 stars for that. ... show more
