As a seamstress it's so important to have a good machine and I've been needing a new sewing machine for awhile now and saw this Brother machine. The price was right and it came with alot of extra thread and bobbins. The machine is digital and easy to operate. It is quiet and sturdy. While I have not used the embroidery part of this machine, the last machine I had was also a Brother and it embroidered great! ... show more

    • Great machine, awful thread in bundle
The machine is absolutely wonderful. I recommend finding YouTube videos to learn how to use it instead of focusing on the book that comes with it. The reason I am not giving five stars is because the bundle is the issue. The thread is really cheap and awful. I almost sent the machine back after playing with it for a week, but when a friend with a similar machine saw the issues I was having, she realized it was the thread. Once I got more expensive thread, it works great. The thread that comes keeps breaking, pulls up thread underneath it so projects don't look good, and it even got to the point where it was ripping through the salvage material on the back. It is not worth using the thread. I would recommend just buying the machine and buying a better polyester embroidery thread. Save your money on the bundle. It's not worth it. ... show more

    • LOTS of trial and error
Now that I have finally figured out how to use it I am liking this machine. However, the part needed for embroidering was missing from my box. After contacting brother (with no help) and then watching countless YouTube and TikTok videos to see what the issue could be, I contacted them and to their credit they sent me the missing part right away. I wish customer support was better and that the machine was easier for those of us new to embroidery to learn. I also have trouble with transferring designs via WiFi and we have wonderful WiFi service, so I think it’s a lag with the machine. I hope to learn how to use this machine more effectively in the future. ... show more

Had to replace an old Brother Embroidery machine. This one is great. I liked my old one but this is even better. The graphics and memory are great. IT is so quiet. You won’t regret buying this.

    • Machine is excellent. Thread is HORRIBLE
So far, I’m really enjoying the machine and it’s fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it. I would’ve given 5 stars for the machine but the thread package that I paid extra for is absolutely horrendous. It breaks CONSTANTLY and I have to rethread several times throughout my projects. Projects that are projected by the machine to only take 10-12 minutes, can take up to an hour to complete because of the many, many, many times I have to rethread because of breakage. To make sure it’s not an issue with the machine (I didn’t really suspect the machine since some spools of thread and zero issues while others break every few stitches) I purchased some high quality embroidery thread spools from our local store and I have had zero issues with them. The only logical conclusion is the thread that comes in this purchase is cheap and flimsy and the machine is awesome. Long story short: just purchase the machine and not the additional bundle. ... show more
