    • Best machine I ever used
I've had 2 Janome's and a Singer...(don't waste your money on a singer). This one is far better than my Janome's. It's pretty easy to get started but you might need an online tutorial about threading the top thread and the bobbin thread. I hope to have it for a long time.

I love this machine! I'm a new quilter and this machine is very easy to use. This is my second Brother sewing machine and while I'm new to quilting, I'm not new to a sewing machine. This machine has everything I need and wanted. It cuts my thread, threads my needle, regulates my speed when I need it to, it has plenty of stitch choices without being over whelming. ... show more

This was recommended by a friend when my old machine went kaput. It is fantastic. So many features and I find new things all the time. Also, the seller is lovely. I thought the additional package with feet, etc. was missing. They agreed without hesitation to send me another. Then I found it hiding at the bottom of the box. Oops. There was a small mix-up with the shipping and the store called me back before they even opened for the day with all the information I needed. On top of that, the machine is completely beautiful. I didn't even realize how loud and weak my old faithful machine was until starting off with this one.

I traded in a perfectly fine Brother ST150hdh. I miss it. I wanted the thread cutter and extra space right of the needle. The magic needle threader is so fast. The stitches are perfect, the motor ourrs. End of review? No so fast, the automatic needle threader takes up a lot of room, difficult ti work around it. The automatic thread cutter works every time. But the needle will often unthread at the start of the next seam. The thread will disappear inside the machine. If lucky your thread tweezers will be able to grab it. If not, pulling the thread out in the wrong direction. A no no but it is that or get your screwdriver. I wish the bobbin winder was more even. Minor complaint. Too soon to speak about the tension but i have to adjust more than on my old machine. Not sure why. Thread? Needle ? ... show more
