I still have to get used to the settings needing to be adjusted every time I turn the machine on or when switching from zig zag to straight stitch. Since my last machine was mechanical, I knew I wouldn't like that part. I think this machine is quieter than the old one. The light is bright. I was having a lot of tension problems until I learned about how different types of thread are wound. I moved the thread to the spool pin so it sits upright when I'm sewing. I am a 74-year-old lady who has sewn since I was 12 years old. I mostly do alterations and mending. My previous machine was 22 years old so using a more modern machine has created a learning curve. However, this machine is easy to use, sturdy built and adequate weight (not to light weight). Purchased this sewing machine to take to classes. Very impressed with all of the features and accessories that come with this machine. Like the viewable bobbin case and the fact that I don’t have to oil the bobbin race. Is very quiet too. Great machine and a great value.
