  • Super nice quality
Color: Ecru Size: Size C (49 x 18 inches) Style: Cover + Foam + Felt
I place this cover over my ironing board as a second cover, after I remove the sponge backing. The quality is super nice and the fit perfect. Washes up nicely without shrinkage. I sew and iron a lot of fine fabrics so I need to keep my ironing board clean and these covers (I now have 2) help me accomplish my work with great ease. ... show more

  • Really nice cover
Color: Metallized Size: Size B (49 x 15 in) Style: Top Layer Only
This cover fit well and was easy to apply. I bought the ironing board underlay to go under it. I have not ironed yet so I can't speak to it's ability to reflect the heat and iron clothes faster. But it is a nice cover. Edit after using cover. The cover does seem to assist with speeding the ironing process. I noticed I did not have to keep pressing over the same area and applying more steam to achieve that pressed look. When turning the clothing item over to press the other side, it did look really smooth already and was much easier to press. I must say there was an odd chemical type smell that wafted up from the cover with the steam. ... show more

  • Great, durable cover, needs a pad under it
Color: Metallized Size: Size C (49 x 18 in) Style: Top Layer Only
Bought a decent ironing board (not at Amazon, elsewhere), it suffered from having a thin, flimsy cover and a thin pad. My mom taught me to press hard with the iron, "smash the wrinkles out", so I do. That caused the pattern of the ironing surface of the board to come through the original thin cover and pad , transferred onto my clothes, giving them small waffle/ fish scale indentations. This is a very reasonably priced cover so I took a gamble. Happy I did. It's made of aluminized cotton which reflects the heat back into the garment and gives it a tough, non-stick surface and it's perforated so the steam escapes easily. It's slightly over-sized for my 49x18 ironing board, so there's plenty of material to wrap around and securely fasten it. The best part is the way that it attaches to the board. It has a strong nylon string stitched into it's perimeter that you cinch down tightly to hold it on. Included is a small plastic piece that grabs the two ends of string allowing you to cinch it even tighter, then the excess string wraps around it. THEN, there's a taught rubber bungee type cord that goes towards the wide end of the board, underneath with hooks on each end that grabs the string on each side (you have to pull on it pretty hard to get it clasped on each side), that further tensions the string and really pulls out all of the wrinkles and holds the cover on tight (see the photos above if my description lost you). I retained the thin polyester mat/ pad that was under the original cover and used that in addition to this cover. This cover has a thin layer of foam bonded to the underside, but by itself, it's not enough of a pad- you need a layer of felt or polyester- i.e., an ironing board pad. You can't use just this cover by itself, it'd be too thin. The instructions included do say that, BTW, so any other reviewers here whining that it's too thin should RTFM (read the freaking manual). I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because it would be perfect if they included a second rubber bungee for the thinner end of the board as well. It's nice and tight at the wider end with the included bungee, it'd be perfect if it were that tension the whole length. I can get one for a few $$ at a local shop, which I will. Update June 22 2013: I use this cover 5~6 mornings per week to iron work shirts, also to iron regular clothes as well and have for over 1 1/2 years now. It is still going strong!!! No obvious signs of wear. I use heavy spray starch when I iron which builds up, but a spray of warm water and a terry towel wipes it right off. I've worn out the pad liner underneath it so I am back on Amazon to buy a replacement (found a heavy duty cotton pad which should last longer). This cover is still solid and performing. The price of this has gone up $4.00 since I bought it but it is still well worth it. Get it. ... show more

  • Flimsy materials
Color: Metallized Size: Size C (49 x 18 in) Style: Top Layer Only
I don’t know why, but the covers for these are all made with string, little plastic pieces, and the material stains easily. For such a sturdy ironing board, I would expect the covers to be more durable. My 93 year old mom like to iron, everything. But she can’t put these in the wash, nor can she put the cover on because you have to tighten it with two stings. Very IKEA like functionality, how I would love elastic that would fold around, so I didn’t have to be called over for the operation of putting the cover on the ironing board!!! ... show more

  • Needs more padding
Color: Metallized Size: Size B (49 x 15 in) Style: Top Layer Only
Basically just the top teflon material with a very thin pull string to secure to ironing board. Only one clip on for underneath, had to add my own elastic to get it nice and tight and added felt underneath that i cut to size.

  • Great Value
Color: Metallized Size: Size C (49 x 18 in) Style: Top Layer Only
This cover is well-made and easy to install on a Barbantia ironing board. If you prefer a more padded ironing surface, I would recommend purchasing a second piece of felt. The felt pad that comes with this cover is a little thin. Otherwise, a good value for the money.

  • Excellent Quality Ironing Board Cover
Color: Metallized Size: Size C (49 x 18 in) Style: Top Layer Only
This is a bit of an expensive ironing board cover, but it is made of exceptional quality, and once you get working with it, you can easily see the level of craftsmanship put into it. This is not a run-of-the-mill cover that you'll see in retail stores, but is rather an extremely well designed cover that should last a very long time while helping improve the ironing process. The cover is made of a semi-reflective outer surface with a substrate beneath it to give the cover a bit of body. The outer layer is designed to efficiently reflect the heat of the iron while also making the smoothness of the surface nice for sliding both the iron and fabric across it. The cover affixes to the board by use of a nylon string that runs around the perimeter of the cover. You simply lay the cover over the board, then gently pull the string until the entire cover is taught. You then use a supplied clasp to secure the strings in a taught position, and then use the supplied rubber strap to further secure the center of the the cover. It's not difficult at all, and results in a nice fit. You just have to make sure you are ordering the correct size for your board (I measured mine with a tape measure and then selected the model with the appropriate size for my board). One thing that you need to be aware of is that this cover is not sufficient to be used on its own. It is too thin and has insufficient padding to work alone. You will need to use a felt or similar pad beneath this cover. If you need a new one, Brabantia also makes a really great quality viscose pad that is specifically designed to work in concert with this cover. I would be tempted to give this four stars because the price is a bit high (especially when you add in the pad, if you need a new one), but the quality and performance of this item make it a five star rating in my thinking. (I had the same feelings for the pad, as well, and came to the same conclusion). Highly recommended. ... show more
