Pleasantly surprised for a head unit under 100.00. Replaced the OEM unit in my 08 4runner Limited. Used the PAC RP4.2-TY11 Radiopro4 Ty11 harness which made install pretty easy. Make sure to set dip switches 1,2,3. Maintained SWC and JBL amplifier. Good size screen. Nice display. And love the volume knob.     • Won’t produce sound
Wired up and hooked up the radio and it would not output sound, I’ve installed many radios and never had an issue and I triple checked my wiring and the settings and the volume and it was all right. Reinstalled my old unit and it’s working fine so I will be returning this and going with a different brand, shame cause it seems like a great unit but I believe the amplifier inside was busted on arrival. ... show more

I have had this in my Scion for 3 months now. My SO has installed multiple car stereos in the past and still found this one pretty complicated, but not sure if it was because the car or the stereo. However, we found a manual online and after that it went in without much trouble. Since then I have noticed better sound and volume quality. My only complaint is how sometimes it will not auto connect to my Bluetooth which can be frustrating, and it took a few tries to figure out how to find where to get that connected. It was not in the settings menu or the streaming menu. I had to reconnect it from the phone book and calls area. It still disconnects and won't auto connect randomly and I'm not sure why, mine in the only phone it's ever connected to. Besides that though I'm very happy with it. It makes my car look better, sounds better, and it's very easy to use besides those little hiccups ... show more

    • good sound; strange execution
I like just about everything about this stereo. It's a huge step up from any non-branded factory system, especially the Toyota head unit it replaced in my Tacoma. The sound is good; the interface is simplistic, yet very functional; and the Bluetooth connects without delay. But I got what I paid for; I'm not in love. Things that may annoy you: - TINY volume knob. Buttons would have worked better in the slim space afforded. - Fat front frame. The frame around the screen is so thick (deep) that it causes the stereo to jut out from the Scosche dash kit I used. Looks very jarring. I tried removing the frame, but the screen came with it. - You cannot control your phone's playlist from the touchscreen. This is pretty astounding. Even my cheapo, awful, slow, terrible Subaru unit can do this over Bluetooth. That's the biggest reason for the missing star. This is basic Bluetooth functionality at this point. Very disappointing. However, when graded on the curve of the price point, I can overlook the imperfections. ... show more

    • Screen turns off after unhooking battery
After I had to disconnect my battery for vehicle maintenance the radio shorted and now it turns off, turns back on, waits a couple of seconds, then turns back off again. I had this radio before and it did the same damn thing.
