It was a little difficult putting it together, as I had to push on it hard to make the top snap to the bottom, then I put in the waste bin. The thing works so quietly that I can talk on the phone and shred! I'm so glad I broke my old 600db LOUD paper shredder, and had an excuse to upgrade. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny. I love the weight of the unit, much heavier than I expected. the base is so stable. I like that the motor has a vent for cooling, with a cooling fan to keep it healthy. Phenomenal design, it even backs up after shredding to keep the blades in great shape. I have one problem though, and it was not worth me subtracting a star. Since I can't use the wheels in my situation, it is not a problem, but one or mine was missing the metal pin that holds the wheel to the bottom of the shredder, which would be a problem for someone who needs the wheels. It shreds super tiny and is rather fascinating at first to watch, ha ha. See the photo to compare the size difference between an old cross cut shredder and this one!! The bin holds a whole lot before needing emptied as well.

I use all of my paper goods in my compost, and I used the shredder to cut up all of my Amazon & usps boxes all of my junk paper junk mail & paper that comes in packages. It shreds everything I have had no problems with the shredder. I love it I shred up all my papers in my home that I no longer need And I use it in my compost, as well as when I’m packaging up things to put in the mail. In California vendors are not allowed to use die that cannot be composed. All dye are required to be soy dye or water dye so it doesn’t affect compost or recycling. ... show more

I purchased this product in September 2023 and suddenly found it not working in February of 2024. I reached out to the company and they responded very quickly to my email. They replaced the item and after looking closer at my original one I was able to get it working. I reached out to the company with my apologies. I am awaiting their response. Used it for a couple months now and so far so good. Bought it when cleaning up my parents estate. My only complaint is that I don't think it is quite as powerful as it claims concerning number of sheets it will shred at one time. And it you do try and push it too hard it will overheat and shut off. But if you don't need that much capacity per-shred then this will work. ... show more
