The kit is cute, and the variety of seeds you get are nice. However, I didn't get a very good germination rate. 4/5 of the types had 2 sprouts at the most, and the flame trees didn't sprout at all. I tried to contact the manufacturer at the email in the booklet that cones with it, but it came back as undeliverable. The booklet also does not address KEEPING a bonsai tree small. You have to do things to it to keep it from become a full sized tree, but the booklet doesn't even mention that. They just discuss it like they will magically stay small because you want them too. Edit: the seller reached out after seeing my review and made it right. As such I am increasing my rating from 3 stars to 4. ... show more

The kit works to get some seedlings going, comes with everything* needed including instructions as advertised. Out of the 5 varieties, only one didn’t manage to germinate and sprout in my kit, and their customer service email has been very responsive in support. Nice way to get started in a bonsai hobby. Note that it is an art involving patience - you typically wait for your seedlings to be 3 years old before you start working on training their shape. * just add water! ... show more
