Description

Named for the town of Jalapa, Mexico, this is the most popular chile pepper in the United States. Jalapeño produces 3-inch, thick-walled, moderately hot pods with deep green color that matures to a bright red. The skin may show a netting pattern as fruit ages, but it does not affect flavor. Often, the heat of the peppers will vary, even those from the same plant. If peppers grow fast, get plenty of water, and are harvested soon, they may be milder than peppers that stay on the plant a long time, or that develop slowly and under stressful conditions.

  • Healthy plants
Style: Shishito Pepper Pattern Name: Plant
I ordered the 4 pack shishito peppers as I wasn’t able to locate them locally. They arrived packaged well in clamshells. All plants were extremely healthy and arrived safely. They were a great size. There was just a bit of soil in the box from the travel. The soil wasn’t completely dried out, but I did water them right away. I planted them a couple of days later. They are doing great and have flowers already. I’d definitely order them again. ... show more

  • Healthy plants
Style: Cayenne Pepper Pattern Name: Plant
These plants were in good shape when they arrived very healthy. When transplanted was good growth and all but one plant which was a little slower than the others (could be soil). Prompt delivery and good handling was obvious.

  • Beautiful Peppers, can't wait to air fry!
Style: Shishito Pepper Pattern Name: Plant
Plants arrived in good condition. They were quite dry and and definitely needed a drink but they seem to be very healthy. I will update if their condition changes. I can't wait to toss in olive oil, salt, and pepper and air fry these peppers!

  • Plants arrived one day earlier than promised. Carefully packaged and in great condition.
Originally, I had ordered habanero plants from a competitor. When the shipment was delayed, I asked for a refund and ordered from Bonnie PLANTS. I received the plants from Bonnie and the competitor on the same day... What a difference! The competitor's two plants were wrapped together in plastic wrap. Bonnie's plants were individually wrapped. Bonnie's plants were larger and in a much healthier state. The price per plant were comparable. Needless to say, they are growing better that the competitor's plants. I have no reservations to ordering again from Bonnie and would highly recommend their plants to others. ... show more

  • 18 days!
Style: Jalapeno Pepper Pattern Name: Plant
I was originally going to wait at least a month to review the jalapeño plants after I transplanted them into a raised bed. Well, im overly excited because they have doubled in size in just 18 days and the flowers are already starting to grow. They looked nice and healthy upon arival inside clamshell cases. I waited 1 day to transplant them to the raised bed. The first day I watered them, leaving them in the cups they came in, on a table outside in the sunlight (without the clamshell cases of course). Unfortunately, I've read somewhere that jalapeños that "slow-grow" are hotter. But, im not complaining, because I have at least 2 dozen flowers (pre pepper) in just 18 days. See pics. 1st pic: first day in raised bed, 2d pic: about 14 days and 3rd pic: 18 days (zoomed in)..(the 3 jalapeño plants are on the left side of raised bed along with 1 sweet sage for pest control). The 4th plant, I put in a pot (also in direct sun). It's only 50% bigger (not 2x like raised bed) but is also producing flowers. P.s. I used miracle grow raised planter bed soil for plants and flowers as it came already correctly mixed for proper drainage, as I am new to this. Good luck, hope everyone is happy as I am right now "ABOUT PLANTS." 😆 ... show more

  • Fragile Plants
Style: Red Ghost Super Hot Pepper Pattern Name: Plant
When these ghost pepper plants arrived, they looked beautiful and the packaging was excellent, but I was suspicious at the size of the leaves considering the small cups they were in. I planted these in rich organic soil, but the plants started struggling almost immediately. Many of the leaves burned in then sun despite it not even being full summer or the plants getting full sunlight all day. They haven’t shown much growth either, but instead seem to be spending energy regrowing leaves to make up for the large leaves that fell off or aren’t doing so well. I’m not sure why the plants seem so fragile, but I’m guessing it’s how they are grown, which may use artificial lights and methods to get them to grow quickly. ... show more

  • Broken off leaves
Style: Jalapeno Pepper Pattern Name: Plant
The plants were generally healthy but there were a lot of broken off leaves that appear to have happened in shipping. The plants were delayed inside the truck for about 3 days, which isn't the seller's fault.
