  • Perfect
I've taken this coyote hunting a few times already and couldn't be happier. It's light and compact, but most of all it's adaptable. As you probably know, coyote hunting isn't a slow haul in a stand just waiting. It's a pursuit. You never know what kind of position you'll find yourself in so it's nice to have a shooting stick that can hang and not slow me down. ... show more

  • It’s good
At best it’s good. Tripod would be better, but if your cheaping out, this would fill the void good enough.

  • nice light comfortable
Collapsible to a size that fits in a backpack easily. Can be used as a walking stick. The head does swivel as advertised but I have to ask why bother it is a monopoly the whole darn thing swivels. It's very light and locks up solid once you have it set at your chosen height. Good design for hunting rifles and could use it with a hunting pistol as well. Might be a bit awkward with really wide flat bottomed forends ... show more

  • Piece of junk.
Broke within a day. The top extension wouldn't tighten and I later found a specially notched gasket broke on the inside. If I knew an interior component broke I would have returned. I found out later so now I'm stuck with a short brace. The lower extension works but I am sure it will easily break also. Useless as a tool if it works once and breaks. I spent $20 and now it sells for $30. Don't waste your hard earned money. ... show more

  • Lightweight and easy to use
I have a couple of the Primos bipod and mono-pod sticks that use a quick-release clamp system, and I consider them to be the "gold standard" for this sort of lightweight collapsible shooting stick. This Havoc unit has some advantages and some disadvantages compared to the Primos units: Advantages: 1. Super light weight. This mono-pod probably weighs substantially less than my Primos mono pod. The legs are thinwall aluminum and the clamping system is very lightweight (similar to what you see on inexpensive camera tripods with a friction collar that catches when you twist the leg. 2. Can be used for hiking. Unlike the Primos unit with the squeeze handle at the top, this mono pod can be used for hiking. It actually has a carbide tip at the bottom (that comes covered by a slip on boot) similar to a hiking pole. I'm 160 lbs, and I can extend it to its full length and use it as a hiking pole without it collapsing. 3. Perfect height when fully collapsed for seated shots. Sitting cross-legged, I can rest the forestock on the cradel and have a perfectly level shot. This is the way I use it most of the time unless I'm in tall grass. 4. Low cost. Compared to the Primos units, these Havocs are a much lower price. Disadvantages 1. Not quite tall enough for standing shots. Even extended to its full length, it is not quite tall enough for me to make a standing shot unless I hunch over. I'm 5' 10" so I'm not even that tall). 2. Adjustments are fiddly because of the friction collars. Unlike the Primos unit with a single squeeze handle, this requires some time to adjust - time that you might not have when a shot presents itself suddenly. But if you're setting up on a spot to do some calling and you have time to adjust everything ahead of time, this is a great, lightweight option. ... show more
