  • Works pretty good
Holds my bolt action high power well and MUCH cheaper than sportsmans warehouse. I haven't shot with it yet but so far it looks solid

  • Works on Primos Trigger Stick *if* you have the plate with a tripod thread
I have used the Jim Shockey Primos trigger stick with the 'V saddle' for Texas hog hunts, and I recently saw some videos with guys using saddles to hold their guns. I purchased this and used the 'tripod screw' plate that came with my Primos, and it fit with no issues*. The good is that the cradle seems to be made decently and is sturdy. It clamps my AR10 6.5 Savage Long Range and feels secure *The bad is that with the Primos Trigger stick, there is slop in the mechanism that clamps the tripod screw plate. This is no fault of the saddle, but a weakness in the Primos Trigger Stick head. I would not clamp my gun and walk away from it, for fear the head might pop off, and the thing that holds the plate is plastic. If I 'balance' the AR10 in the saddle and clamp it seems less sketchy and takes more strain off the Primos head, but I would suggest either put this on a real tripod *or* use it only for balancing the gun when hunting or target shooting - just remove the clamp/gun from the Primos stick before you walk away. It does help steady my aim quite a bit, and that is what I was looking for. I think it plus the trigger stick will be a decent enough lightweight companion until I invest in a beefier field tripod. ... show more

  • Rock Solid But Not ARCA Swiss Sized Adapter
This saddle gun holder is rock solid as far as the gripping portion of the head unit and very sturdy. My complaint is that of many other users here who say that the ARCA Swiss rail is too small. It is ever so slightly too small. If I use a little bit of force, I can slide it out of my adapter plate on multiple head units. It holds my rifle so well that I am willing to live with it, but it would be much better if I didn't have to find a work around to this problem when ARCA-Swiss is a standardized size. Overall, VERY solid saddle and holds my rifle easily for 300+ yard shots. I had a BOG deathgrip carbon fiber tripod, but it was very bulky. I found a much more slimlined tripod and attached this head unit to it for a smaller footprint. ... show more

  • One of the best grips out there.
I'm paralyzed from the chest down, and can't use my hands. There is nothing out there I could find to help me shoot again, So I came up with a plan to make something. This grip fit the bill perfectly. We took the base off the grip by removing the bolts, then drilled holes into a piece of flat steel, and mounted the grip to it, then welded a small piece of tubing to the underside of the steel plate. Slide the tubing over a piece of round stock (about 6ft or so) then removed my leg pads from my wheelchair and measured where to bend the round stock to form sort of 3 sides of a square that when placed in the mounting holes for the leg pads would at the correct height for shooting. works great for target shooting! Haven't figured out how to get out into the woods, but i'm one "STEP" closer to hunting again. ... show more

  • Check your tripod
The product was great but it didn’t fit the tripod I had. The tripod that comes with set is well worth the price.

  • Handle kept coming loose
I put on blue lock tight and fixed the problem but the set screw wouldn't get tight enough. I had to open it up all the way to get the handle back on and tight after removing the set screw then it was stuck I put a pair of pliers on the thread to loosen it back up and crushed the thread .Great. Now I have a tight spot to deal with very next trip out it came loose again in the middle of a cyote hunt . So 3rd time it came loose I decided to remove the set screw put in blue lock tight and it's holding just with messed up threads. When it works it's Great. When it comes loose you risk not getting it tight enough and your gun falling off. ... show more

  • Good Value
Well made vice, Mounts securely on a tripod. Does what it claims to do. I purchased it to sight revolvers in my home. The vise does not close enough to grip most of my handguns. I probably could have put a few pieces of rubber on the sides, but did not want to fool around with making adjustments. I returned the item with no problem re Amazon's very fair return policy. This vice will probably work very well with long guns. ... show more
