    • It is a timer that is set by default to IGNORE your program settings
Got this timer a few months back and set it up easily enough, because I had the instructions with me when they were new. There was an odd setting issue, but I had forgotten about it. Jump six months into the future and I need to move or change the time on a few, and I notice that they are not going on when programmed. I check all the settings again, confirm no mix up with am pm, etc, and it's all fine. Still, they won't go on when programmed to. I eventually went online to find the instructions because I knew there was something odd when I first set them up, and I found it. These timers are set by default, to IGNORE your program settings, unless, after all programmed, you hold the on/off button for 4 seconds so that it goes into auto mode. So, for the most part, yes they do work fine, BUT WHY would you sell a timer that doesn't follow the program unless you specifically remember to do a very non-obvious thing when setting them up? If there was a separate manual/auto button, I could see where it might become apparent that you may have to do something, but there is no indication, other than in the manual, on how to get the timer to follow the program you set.     • Bought 2-pack but one didn't work (replaced by warranty, all good now), otherwise a good deal
I purchased a 2-pack and one timer did not work right out of the box. The other one works fine. Sent email to product support and waiting on a response. Pros: - Low profile, uses one outlet and leaves room for something else to be plugged in to the other outlet. - Silent operation, unlike the noisy mechanical timers I replaced with these digital ones. - Has backup battery and can be programmed away from the power source if it is charged first. - Easy enough to program. Has more than one on/off program in a 24 hour period if needed. - Works great for Christmas tree and lights, etc. Cons: - One didn't work upon arrival of 2-pack (see update below - all is resolved now) - Small display, not backlit, hard to read from more than a few feet away. UPDATE: I contacted the supplier's support and they replied in email. They then sent a replacement timer at no cost to me. The replacement works well so all is good. Support also followed up to ensure I got the replacement and it worked. Excellent customer service! Upgrading to 5 stars! ... show more

    • Timer needs lots of charging before working right.
Just got these. Plugged them in to charge up for about 3 hours. Was able to readily put in time, 1 on off cycle. Tried switching betwwen timed and manual by holding down switch. Took about 5 seconds. However i could not get it to turn on, off while in manual mode. Did not switch while in auto mode either. Ready to ship back for refund. Left both plugged in over night. Tried switching between man auto mode, works. While in manual mode it readily switched between on, off. Good. Back to auto mode, switches between on, off readily. Guess the timer has to charge up the internal battery for at least 12 hours before it functions as advertized. Putting the timer back in use. Conditional 4 star review for now. Will see if it works for the long term. ... show more

    • OK Inexpensive Timer, but No Backlight, Vacation(Random) Mode, or Separate Hour vs Minute setting.
I have several electronic timers and this one is pretty good for the price. However, it has several weaknesses to consider before purchasing: Pros: - Has separate buttons for setting the Time vs Program, instead of re-using the same button requiring complex sequences. Also has separate buttons for moving up and down, - Has a separate button for turning the outlet on/off that does NOT permanently override the program you have set in the future (many timers require you to hit the On/Off button twice to restore the Auto setting. - Allows two programmable on/off cycles - Has a separate button for setting Daylight Savings Time - Has a small footprint so two timers can be stacked in a single outlook. - Both timers came charged and ready to go Cons: - No Vacation/Random mode/setting to have lights come on and go off at slightly different times. - No backlight. Difficult to see in dim light. - No separate Hour vs Minute setting, so to set a Start or End time several hours from whatever time is currently being displayed you have patiently wait as it goes through sixty minutes for each hour. It's fairly tedious when you first set it up, but fortunately it's only the first time setting it that requires navigating across many hours. - On/Off button is not easily distinguished from other small buttons. This is the one button that should be significantly larger and/or specially marked so you can easily see it while standing up. (I have put a Red Circle around mine) - No separate Auto/Manual mode button. As others have commented, to change from Auto to Manual or from Manual to Auto you have to remember to hold the on/off button for 4 seconds. (I've written this instruction directly on my unit so as not to forget I would gladly pay a little more to have these issues resolved while keeping the small footprint. ... show more

    • Incredibly Poor Performance - Update #2
Incredibly difficult to program. Operation is completely undependable and should be withdrawn from the market until they can produce a product that functions reliably. I would definitely NOT recommend this product. 9-25-2019 Update - Received an attempted bribe from the distributor today. They will refund my $17 if I remove my negative evaluation. Claimed they had changed manufacturer and all is better but did not offer to send me replacements for further evaluation ..... sort of tells the whole story. 11-6-2019 Update - Now I receive yet another person suggesting I should CALL them so they can instruct me how to program the unit. Still no offer of a refund or that "new and improved" unit they reportedly have created. Interesting that their Ad doesn't mention it either. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a front end for a bunch of scammers?!?!?! ... show more
