This little unit really punches above its weight. Rich and strong sound for its size, and powerful speakers. I might get in trouble with the neighbors if I go full blast! I have it at 18 and that's plenty loud. I wonder how high it will go up? Certainly higher than I ever intend to set it. Very clear sound with a nice mix of bass and treble. If anything it's slightly on the treble side, but bass is well represented too. It has FM plus Bluetooth streaming, so I can play YouTube and IHeartRadio, the only two sources of music I use anymore. It has a single CD port, just in case you have any CDs left. I think there might be a couple around the house somewhere! For the money, very solid, really nice sound. And all parts are of nice quality, I expect to get several years or more use out of this unit. I'm very pleased with it as it met my size, price, and performance goals for where I have it in my house. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. After my old cd changer finally quit (25 yrs old), I needed something to play my CDs on. I wanted something smaller in size with modern features like Bluetooth and a playable usb port, and of course a cd changer! I'm older now so I don't listen to music as loud as i used to but I still like to turn it up once in a while. I ended up with the Oak castle HIFI300. The Oak castle HIFI300 Is a pretty neat little unit that has most of the features we were looking for! It boasts 100 watts of stereo sound, (I don't know if that's 100 watts per channel or 50watts X 2) but it gets fairly loud for such a small 10.25" W X 9"D unit. It won't knock any walls down but it does fill the room well with clear, clean quality sound. their is no separate bass or treble but the sound is well balanced and clean! Might have been nice to see a loudness button for low volumes though! The cd changer works great with quick loads and a clear led display that shows what track your on and your playback status. You can select tracks on the main unit as well as the remote to your liking! (also has a repeat, play pause, and forward and back button). The remote has the necessary buttons like power, repeat, play pause, mute, mode and numbered buttons for cd track access or FM station channels. This unit has a FM tuner that receives signals well (analog), and it is a digital tuner. The tuner assigns a number for the different stations after a channel scan that can be accessed with the remote! Other features are Bluetooth that paired and worked flawlessly (I tested it up to 25') and a front USB port for playing songs with a flash drive. When playing the flash drive the display shows only the track number and counter for time but their is no file information such as song, album, artist etc.! Their is a handy front headphone jack and a line in (aux) on the back, but no other inputs for phono or tape. The Oak castle HIFI300 system fits well in my family room with a smaller footprint than my 70's stereo system and it has all the modern features like Bluetooth, usb and digital tuning! Playing music is much more convenient with the HIFI300 and I tend to use it as my default stereo system now and oh yeah, the CD works great on this guy! Nice unit, Nice price! ... show more

    • Don' buy a Bose, buy this and stay happy
Had a Bose shelf unit for years that finally stopped working. Never really liked the "false" sound quality, like an ongoing drone, that imposed bass quality that grates on your nerves. Took a chance with this system and was impressed. It is not sophisticated, with all the bells and whistles. But, it does deliver a nice natural sound that can be listened to for hours. It is easy to use and takes up little space. Great price, as well. My only disappointment was the short length of the premeasured speaker leads. ... show more

Love this CD, FM(with antenna), USB home stereo system. The Oakcastle UK HiFi 300 has beautiful sound at both soft levels and high volume. The two 100 watt speakers truly rock similar to Boston, Bose, or JBL, at a fraction of the cost. Looks nice too and easy peasy to hook up (took like 5 minutes). Perfect for home, bookshelf or outside and requires little space. Just wish the speaker cables were about two feet longer, other than that, don't pass this deal up and all at fantastic price. The media could not be loaded. Oakcastle by Majority Audio has produced a fabulous product with the HIFI300 Stereo System. It combines the best of form and function with the Oakcastle flair. It harkens back to the pinnacle of Hi Fi stereo systems, but adds the best of today's technology. Sound: First up, the sound is of superior quality. I listen to everything from classical to classic rock. This 100W system delivered with both loudness and quality. I took it up to 15, and it filled most of the house. Yet, the softest sounds were clear and sweet. I appreciate the bookcase speakers that allow for even better stereo separation. My only complaint is a lack of equalizer, but considering the price, I can't complain too much about that. Functions: The unit is definitely multi-purpose with a CD player, FM radio, Bluetooth, and USB MP3. It also has an AUX input on the back. I'm going to hook up a turn table! If you want to listen quietly to your music or podcasts, it also has an audio jack on the front. Form: The stereo case is metal, I was surprised and pleased to note, metal! The multi-line LCD display is clear and vibrant. It has enough buttons to please this old-school fan, plus the big shiny silver volume knob. In addition it has rubber feet to prevent slipping when you push the buttons. Oakcastle engineers thought of everything. What's not to like? And for control from across the room, an easy-to-use remote control is included. I am pleased with this stereo system, and the many other Oakcastle audio products out there.
