Setup My seven-year-old attempted to set this up himself, and was able to get through the first two steps himself, but needed help with installing the telescopic poles. The experience is pretty much exactly the same as setting up a tent. One mistake I made, just to help others, is you need to make the poles cross from front to back, not have one pole across the front and one across the back. Despite that minor setback, it still took between 5-10 minutes to set up, and it was very easy. Kid Feedback This is awesome! Extras Not only does this come with the practice net itself, but it also comes with a target that hangs inside the next, stakes to keep it from blowing away, and a carrying case.     • PERFECT FOR A PARK, BACKYARD, OR OPEN FIELD FOR PRACTICE ON OR OFF SEASON: CAN FIT IN A HOUSE.
I've tried this out in three different scenarios, and it worked well. It takes a reasonable amount of time to set up, which is frustrating. The quality is good, but not great, but it gets the job done. I set this up in an area of my garage with vaulted ceilings. If you decide to do this, ensure your swing will not hit any of the rafters! Another thing you can do is, if you want to get creative, put mirrors on the front and right or left side of your body to see how you're swinging with your technique. If you put the mirror in front of you, you'll be able to see if you're swinging. You can also do a video review, but this will give you real-time feedback. I set it up at my local park on a warm day, and other golfers joined. We had a great time practicing together. It made it fun! The last place we had this was at my friend's condo. We set it up in the common area near the lake; it was a lot of fun. Regarding the setup time, I recommend giving yourself at least an hour or two to get acclimated to what it is. My final recommendation is if you put this in a permanent or semi-permanent area, I recommend putting four sandbags, one in each corner, to give it some weight, driving steaks into the ground.     • lightweight, roomy practice net ... but durability is lacking
This practice net is constructed a lot like a camping tent, with 2 sectional poles that have to be threaded through the net and bent to form a dome. It is a little tricky for one person to set up alone. It's made of a very lightweight mesh with a nylon floor and an optional nylon sheet for the back of the dome that has a target on it. It has stakes to anchor it, but they are fairly short and may pop out of loose soil. With the target attached, the net gets blown around by the wind (the solid target sheet catches the wind like a sail.) Without the target, it stays upright since the wind passes through it. So if you are leaving it set up outside I'd recommend removing the target. However, it seems that the target is necessary when you're hitting balls -- I already tore a hole in the flimsy mesh by hitting a ball into it without the target in place. I have doubts about the long term durability of this net, but if you hit into the target sheet that should help it stay intact. I have 2 different golf nets -- this one, and a rectangular type of a different style (all mesh, with no target and no solid floor.) The advantages of this one are that it has a roomy interior where all your balls will land, and it's very lightweight and portable. However, the other one has a much heavier-gauge mesh, thicker poles and resists the elements better. This one would be a good choice if you want to move it aorund, or maybe sometimes use it outdoors and sometimes in a garage or basement. If it's indoors where you can't use the ground stakes, you would have to weight it or secure it in some way so it wouldn't move every time a ball hits it. ... show more

Setup was a challenge for one person in the wind. It would have been a lot easier for two people. I thought it was about 10 mph but the phone says 20. Either way, it put up a fight setting it up and putting it away. The anchor stakes could have been a little longer, but in light wind they'll be fine. The storage bag is just the right size, it wasn't too hard to fold it up and get everything to fit. The net seems very well constructed and should last a long time. I have a feeling it will get a lot more use at outdoor parties than for serious practice. It's well deserving of five stars. ... show more
