I purchased this after using a competitor brand video doorbell for several years. The old one began to charging incompletely and not lasting very long. Also, it would no longer detect any motion on my front porch. When I had my storm door shattered by someone, it didn't pick up the intruder. I've had blink cameras for around 3 years now, and the have worked flawlessly. I raise goats and the cameras always pick up stray dogs in the middle of the night or anyone around any corner of my house. The quality is so much better than my former video camera. The live footage, unlike my former doorbell, is not grainy or difficult to see at night. With the Blink doorbell, it was simple to set up. It practically does everything on its own. I already had the synch module running my other Blink cameras, so it connected to it within a second or two. This one works on a dual band system, whereas my old one was 2.4 Ghz only. This one, compared to my old camera, takes two (2) Lithium batteries, like my other Blink cameras, and so far they have all lasted for 3 years. The Blink app is very user friendly. I can monitor when I home or alone with Alexa, or the app. I was able to view my cameras last year from Honduras, Mexico and Belize! We're taking a trip to Alaska in a month or so, and I feel confident and comfortable enough for these to do their job. Overall, I am very pleased with this Doorbell and Camera combo. The wife and I just bought our first house and wanted a system so we can keep tabs on the place when we are not there. For the price of the pack and what you get it is great! So far we love it and have only had a couple issues but none of which are the products fault! Be careful where you put the cameras as they go off of WI-FI. The one on our separated garage doesn't want to show live feed sometimes because of the distance from the sync module, but that's not really the products fault. The sync module can be a pain to reconnect, but once its connected it works flawlessly! We have used them to catch sneaky little raccoons and neighborhood cats moseying around. Its fun to see what goes on at night and we enjoy it. It has been nice to use the doorbell to chat with visitors while you are away. Extremely handy bundle of equipment and very easy to set up!!! I decided to leave my old Ring cameras behind and use Blink and so far I'm really happy with them! They were easy to install and WAY easier to setup than Ring! My only quibble so far is that I REALLY wish the video doorbell had person detection and not just simple motion detection. My neighbors have cars coming and going from their driveway every 15 *$&% minutes and it just kills the video doorbell battery life. Most of the other brands can do this but not Blink. PLEASE do an update for person detection on the doorbell! The advertised battery life is not accurate if you live on a regular-use residential street, but it's not much worse than any other cams. The battery-powered outdoor cams are super low profile and I bought the separate silicone case for additional outdoor protection. So far, all of the cams work just fine. I do wish the app loaded a little faster (I have a new iphone so it's not the phone) when i want to see something quickly, but overall I'm happy! Note: If you want to use rechargeable batteries you need to get specifically lithium-ion rechargeable AA batteries, not the normal kind. I ordered some from Amazon and they work great! ... show more

    • It’s an effective camera system most of the time

The quality of the video is good and it’s nice to be able to change the options for them. The night vision works rather well for unlit areas. The motion detection settings as well as the selectable areas to ignore have worked well in my 6-month experience. I’ve only had to change the batteries in one of the cameras, the busiest one, and early on we didn’t have the settings dialed in so it was recording a lot. For the features and coverage available from this set it’s a good value, especially catching it on sale. I knocked a point off for connectivity - we have fiber internet with an Eero router on the other side of the wall from one of the cameras and it will not stay connected. We have adjusted the position and reset everything multiple times, and I can expect to reset the camera once a week. I also feel that users are penalized despite having the Sync Module 2 for subscription-free storage. We have a 256gb flash drive connected and it will periodically stop storing clips until I reformat it (when it’s far from full) and it will not allow live recording - if you get a notification and click on it to view the camera it will not record the trigger. Nor can you open a camera and record what you’re watching. We learned this the hard way a few times, so now when it’s triggered we clear the notification and open the app, it won’t let you view the camera until the clip is saved but at least it saved. ... show more
