Put in a vintage vehicle face sticks out more than I like but great sound even on ancient speakers. No treble or base adjustment just different sound selections: rock, pop, and maybe one other. Rock sounds best but still a little much treble. Illumination blue non adjustable, over all happy. Bluetooth to my iPhone in seconds.     • Outstanding unit!
I installed this radio in our “vintage” VW van. Has all the features we need and fits nicely in the dash. Drives our 4-speaker system perfectly with pleasing, balanced, full sound (we like the “Rock” EQ setting!). Have not yet paired it with a mobile phone, but it does have a nice manual “mute” feature when receiving or making a call. As some have mentioned, the display is somewhat dim in full daylight. The detachable faceplate comes with a nice protective case, and the remote is easy to use. Overall, I don’t think you can find a better radio at this modest price point! ... show more

    • Worth the $50 Amazon price.
I got this because the Clarion unit I’ve had on my 2005 RAV4 since 2010 finally started behaving weird and only partially functioned. Besides, it never had Bluetooth anyway, which I’ve missed having for at least the last 8 years, and I never liked the itty-bitty text and confusing controls. About the only thing I really liked was the single twist-knob for volume control and the CD player. I got this Blaupunkt because it had a similar twist volume knob and the CD player but with Bluetooth, front-face USB, SDcard slot, plus AUX and AM/FM radio with a lot of presets. Since I already had a Scoche DIN adapter inserted for the Clairion, it was a very easy removal of the old unit, and after a careful comparison of wiring charts, and easy wiring of rat Blaupunkt harness, and installation of the new unit into the Scoche mounting. After reconnecting the battery, the new unit performs flawlessly. My only complaint, hence the 4 stars instead 5, is the fact this unit does not include any illumination wiring specifically for the display brightening/dimming. It only has one setting, which is great after sunset, but practically invisible during the day. Fortunately I don’t care much, which is why I went ahead and bought this unit having read all the reviews, many of whom complained about this aspect. So, if you buy it, be aware that all the complaints about a dim daytime display are true, and as far as I can they’ll, there is nothing you can do about it. Otherwise this is a great unit and a bargain for the $ (assuming it lasts — I just finished installing it and test-drove for the first time it today… so time will tell…) ... show more

    • Great radio for the money
I bought this for my motorhome because it had Bluetooth, a CD player and a remote. My old radio was difficult to seek out stations or adjust the volume. This one is much better for both so I probably didn't need the remote, but it is quite handy to adjust the radio without having to lean forward. Bluetooth works great from our phones so play list is now basically unlimited. My speakers are offset so I had to figure out how to adjust the side to side balance, but once done it sounds great ... show more

    • No controls, no off, no volume, no eject, no reset... no no no
Bought it last May 2022, got around to install it last month, Oct 2023 (in a enclosed farm tractor) In less than a month, No controls, no off, no volume, no eject, no reset, no nothing. Have to pull the fuse from tractor. Reinstall fuse, works fine. After a few minutes, nothing works again.

    • Bad illimination.
For the money when I purchased it for $55 it was a good solution for a 90's German car, however that being a convertible it was a bad choice. My OEM radio was done, and for the money it puts out good sound along wih easy setup. There is a fake action noise bar display thay is very immature looking and quite annoying with no option to disable. Despite all the available methods to play music it comes with a remote that is almost useless due to poor distance read. Overall for the money it is OK, but if you have a ragtop, you won't be able to see anything at all. After buying I did some reading up...did not know thay blaupunk is no longer german....it is a Chinese company so the quality is no longer a given that was my mistake. Hope this helps. ... show more
