This review is for the griddle and grill top. For cooking on this griddle it is excellent!! Good even heat throughout the surface 6 Stars for that. The grease drainage system is awful if the grill is not perfectly level it won't drain and there is NO way to level the grill other than shim the wheels themselves. When the grease does drain it back drains and runs down the leg of the grill and onto the deck. Not sure with all the reviews of the grease not draining correctly that Blackstone cannot correct the problem. Need to be able to adjust the legs to level and fix the drain at the end. I also bought the grill top which come with brackets to hang the grill top on the back of the stand which work perfectly. To bad when your using the grill top you can't hang the griddle on the back of the grill stand. I would pay the extra for the improvements on the griddle because if those 2 things were fixed this would be a 10 star cooking grill! ... show more

First off, the griddle is AWESOME! And I really wanted to like this accessory. However, When I attempted to use it the grill never really got hot enough to cook. Took forever to cook grilled chicken. And since it never got hot it made it very difficult to clean after cooking. Im going to stick with the Griddle and buy a separate standalone grill. ... show more

DO NOT buy one! Not enough heat to cook anything. The original griddle works great as it get the heat directly but this grill top accessory is a COMPLETE waste of money. It sits too high to get any significant heat. I tried cooking a couple burgers and a steak on this; 45 minutes later they were still raw so I had to bust out the George Foreman. Haven’t used this completely worthless piece of crap since. AND it’s supposed to hang off the back when not in use? Haha! Yeah you can do that but must remove the grease trap that also hangs off the back and since you need the grease trap if you’re cooking on the griddle, I choose to keep the grease trap hanging off the back and so this huge worthless grill top sits on a table wasting space. ... show more

I got my grill top last week and finally got to install it today. Looks amazing and was really easy to install.. But I noticed that the paint it's coming off. Is that normal on a brand new grill to??? Or safe to cook on??

I did a ton of research, comparing the Blackstone to the Camp Chef and ultimately decided on the Blacktone and I am extremely happy with it. It didnt take long at all to assemble it, very easy! Seasoning was really quick as well. We used this for breakfast, feeding 8 people at our campsite and just that single use, the griddle paid for itself!!! I read reviews of the grease being a mess, I did NOT have any issues. Make sure you level it properly with a slight angle leaning towards the grease collection point and you wont have an issue. I LOVE THIS GRIDDLE and when camping season is complete, I will be moving it to the house!!! Great product! ... show more

It fit perfect(I have one of the original/old design griddles). Unlike other reviewers I have absolutely zero issues with enough heat to cook on the grill. I set the knobs almost exactly where I did for the griddle top & it gets hot enough to singe arm/hand hair while flipping burgers, steak, chicken etc. The heat shield design could use improving as the heat is far from evenly dispersed & cleaning them can be a bear. I really do like the quality of the grill top accessory and love the ingenious ability to store it out of the way while at the same time I can still use the griddle. I'm giving it 3 stars because the drip tray was roughly 3 to 4 inches to short & wont fit correctly. I don't want to use it now because it will make a mess ... show more

This is a great addition to my blackstone flat top. Was worried After reading some reviews about but I have found it to grill steaks pork chops and chicken in the same amount of time that it took on my traditional dome lid propane grill. Assembly was easy and directions are included. As to value, I was looking to replace my grill and took a chance on this as my option. I am glad I did. One less outdoor cooking appliance taking up space. The grill top (and griddle top with slight modifications of adding studs) will store out of the way on the back of the blackstone unit all safely out of the weather under the cover. ... show more
