Disclaimer: This is our 1st Blackstone Griddle. We've always wanted one but we travel frequently between our home and a Northern cabin, and didn't want to buy 2 separate ones for each house. We also did not want a large 36" 4 burner Blackstone as they aren't very portable, too heavy and difficult for 1 person to load into a vehicle. Found the 1935 Blackstone and bought it for the hubs for Christmas, and it was a great investment. Folding it up is a breeze, and it transports nicely. We have made several Blackstone recipes on it - Chicken Fajitas (wow), Chicken Quesadillas (Wow), Smashburgers (WOW), a shredded hash brown breakfast with onions/peppers/ham/cheese and an egg cracked on tip (Literally life changing), and a few other small things like Slim Jims - thats a grilled ham sandwich on a hoagie bun for you non-midwesterners. So after all the raving I have done, I do have a few points of contention: Trying to move the griddle around can be a PITA as the folding legs try to fold back up if you try to move it any distance (like from the garage to the patio). It takes 2 people to move to lift it a few inches to get up onto a deck for example, or it will try to fold up and collapse. Also my husband has commented a few times that it's hard/takes longer to make certain things because it only has 2 burners and wont get/stay hot enough if you have a lot of food spread across the griddle, like when you'd be cooking for 3-4-5-6 people. Oh, and especially if there is ANY breeze. He's had to block the wind from going up into the backside of the unit a few times. I figured this would be a stepping stone Blackstone for us, and that we'd eventually want to upgrade to a 3 or 4 burner unit, and I think I was spot on with that prediction. However, it is hard to want to upgrade to the bigger, "non-portable" type yet. Even with its minor faults, this griddle still does what a Blackstone should do and does it well enough. The media could not be loaded. First let me say I’m terrible at putting stuff togeather so much so I use task rabbit for most that said I have it a try and had it built and ready to season in under an hour. No reason to get the Blackstone oil in simply followed the instructions using coconut oil the pics aid the video are the first cook on it. Turned the burner down too much when I threw the skirt on so it didn’t sear enough but not a doubt in my mind it wont have that cooks error happen again know this thing is going to sear incredibly. Super easy cleanup. Having cooked on cast iron and carbon steel and restaurant flattops it’s simple…keep it clean…keep it oiled. After I cook I turn it off let it sit for ten minutes squirt some water on it run a steel wool on it paper or rag towel it dry then put a very thin layer of oil down and it’s ready for next use. I got it to take it on the road to car camp and tailgate after first cook on my patio in the mid 80’s it’s ready to go back in my trunk in under an hour. Cool as a cucumber. I looked at many products from skuttle cookers to portable so called all in one little camp fire cookers and decided on this. It’s perfect year round on my patio. Fits in my trunk with a powered cooler. Doesn’t need a table. Can put pots right in the griddle to boil water for coffee or tea or crab boil. It’s got a lid. The build quality is excellent. And should it only last a year or two (sure I’m gonna get at least five) it was only $250. it can use camping size portable fuel canisters right up to portable gas bbq 20pound tanks everyone carries. i got an rei portable 5gal tank that's dot approved to carry in your trunk to take it on the rode. so happy with this purchase. and that egg didn't stick one bit. trick to cast iron is oil ... show more

I’ve assembled LOTS of things over the years and this is, without a doubt, the highest quality and most solid grill (or anything else) I’ve ever put together. The steel is the real deal - not one piece was flimsy. Clear printed instructions. Easy to put together but I suggest having someone help you lift the griddle onto the assembled stand. Now the best part! I’d never cooked on a griddle and on my first try the food I prepared was delicious! Make sure you season it right and clean it as directed - no soap after cooking. And, no flare up. Easy to use. I echo what others have said: it has wheels and you can take it with you when you go camping - but I think you’ll find it’s a two person job to get it loaded. We are a family of three so this 22" is the perfect size grill for us and our small patio. We've used it once but we think we're going to like it. It's easy to use and easy to clean. We can't wait to use it again. We think our next meal on the grill might be breakfast!
