I really wanted to love this blender and in terms of use and power I think it's great! Having said that, the first blender I ordered had hairline cracks in the bottom and around the imbedded "gear" that turns the blade of the pitcher and while it worked eventually the cracks would get worse. I returned this first blender and got a replacement but the pitcher on the replacement had almost the same cracks so this got sent back too. The damage to each pitcher looked as if the bottoms were compressed up causing stress fractures. Since the boxes of both blenders were undamaged and the inside packing appeared robust I would guess that there is a quality control issue.
