I use the bags in a 5-gallon bucket to pick up dog waste, grass, leaves, and pinecones. They hold up very well as long as you do not place sharp items near the plastic. It is not very thick and rips easily. Other than that, the bags work very well and let me get the job done.

We use these for kitchen and office/bathroom. These fit nicely in the 4 gallon office wastebasket we use for the kitchen. I put hot things, wet things, sharp things (husk of a pineapple), all kinds of things in our kitchen trash and have not had any problems. When kitchen trash is full, I top it off by cleaning the litter boxes. I have not had one bag blow out at all. They do seem thin and can tear at the top as you get them off the roll, but I have not had a full bag fail. Also, we don't change the kitchen bag every day, so they do last at least 3-4 days with no disintegration at all. I wasn't sure how these were going to go and I'm impressed. I absolutely love these bags. They are great for the environment (they're not the "OXO biodegradable" kind, which just creates microplastics), and don't have any issues. I got the 4-6 gallon version and use them for the 5.3 gallon trash can in my kitchen. I have used them for months and they have never ripped, no matter what's in the trash or how full it is. You don't need to double the bag, at least for the 4-6 gallon ones. I did try to use them once to protect some clean clothes in a backpack for travel, and another ziplock freezer bag I had inside, with the slightly sharp top section, managed to pierce a few small holes in the bag. That was really strange because I've had similar things in my trash and there has never been a problem. I think somehow the technology is designed specifically for trash cans, and it works great for that purpose. I'll still keep using them for the purpose of separating/protecting stuff when traveling, though, too. I can't speak to the larger sizes, but for smaller kitchen trash cans I 1,000% recommend the 4-6 gallon bags. ... show more

This size is perfect and I find the bags strong enough. I love that I am not using plastic. The only problem I have is with the perforation between the bags. You need to be very careful separating the bags because they can be easily torn. Other than that I am quite happy with this garbage bag.

I’ve lowered my rating only because after ordering these bags I found (eBay) virtually the identical bag, from several sources and in different colors, for half Amazon’s price. Based on that, these bags are NOT worth Amazon’s current price. I wish I had bothered to look on eBay first. Now that grocery stores no longer supply their own plastic bags, which I have been keeping and reusing for years, like everyone else I was forced to find another source of similar bags. The bag under review here is thinner, perhaps a tiny bit thicker than the small bags used to protect frozen items, but also much larger. These bags do tend to split open if treated roughly, but as long as you’re careful tearing them off the roll and opening them up...they hold together well and are even reusable. I like them very much, assuming the price doesn’t increase much, and hopefully doesn’t increase at all. They are very versatile and more or less exactly what I need. ... show more
