  • Fantastic pizza oven
The media could not be loaded. Gets to heat 900 degrees in about 20 mins, once you learn how to cook your pizzas to your liking it’s absolutely perfect. Build quality is very nice, sturdy stainless steel. Absolutely happy with the results it’s produced.

  • Kind of a novelty, but cool
I love the idea of using pellets to cook a pie. Really getting that smokey wood fired flavor, but getting the pellets started and running up to temperature was a bit of a challenge. I ended up using a blowtorch to get decent results but found that opening the door really drops the temp fast. It would have been really nice to have some sort of a window to view the pizza while cooking. Replacing the pizza stone with plate steel would probably yield more consistent results. Definitely use a laser thermometer to ensure the pizza stone has had sufficient time to recover temp before starting a pizza. Construction is very very nice. ... show more

  • AMAZING PIZZAS!!
Now I know why everyone loves BIG HORN pizza ovens. The prior models, which were already really good, used either wood pellets or propane. This newer model gives you the option. Propane is faster, more convenient, is probably more cost effective, and maintains temperature better. The wood pellets are great but have a slightly longer time to get going (10-15 minutes) and can cool down in between pizzas. Still, if you are only planning on making 1 r 2 pizzas, wood pellet might be a better option. Once you have it ripping hot and can see the fire coming out of the chimney every once in a while, you are ready to throw in your pie, which will be done in 2 minutes. I recommend getting an infrared thermometer to get a quick reading and help you optimize your perfect heat level. ... show more

  • Easy to Assemble, Heats to 600°+ Quickly
This is my second pizza oven in the last 5 years or so, and I love it. I initially opted for the pellets as fuel in contrast to the previous – and very similar – oven I had for which I used propane. After using both, I can report that the pellets seem to get hotter than the propane, but that propane gets up to temperature more quickly. Plus, with pellets I don’t need to have to manage a third propane tank on my deck. Assembly was extremely easy, almost intuitive. After removing the propane burner and installing the pellet burner, everything else just fell into place. As you can see from the photo, it fits nicely on my cart. The first picture is before first use. The manufacturer suggests that you do a seasoning burn-in prior to cooking, so that is what happened next. The thing cranked up to 650° as advertised in about 15-20 minutes. After cooling back down several hours later, I made a pizza, wheeled it outside to where it will live going forward, and made the half and half prosciutto & arugula pizza and pepperoni pizza you see in the picture. Even though this is my second pizza oven, I’m still in a learning curve especially using pellets vs propane. Maybe I’ll actually get better at it. Two things to pass along about using pellets to those interested. First, as you can see in the picture, initially there is a ton of smoke. You must wait until the smoke is reduced/gone before you start cooking, and second, you will need to continuously add pellets when you have gotten up to the desired cooking temperature. This means if you are cooking multiple pizzas, you must have them all ready and a helper to bring out uncooked pizzas and take away the finished product. ... show more

  • Simple and fun way to cook pizza outside
I was excited to receive our Big Horn 12" multi-fuel pizza oven and put it to use for the first time! As soon as I knew it had shipped, I prepared homemade pizza dough so I could use it right away! The pizza oven does come semi-unassembled but each component was very well packaged and protected from any harm/marring during shipment. Instructions for assembly were very clear and easy to follow. There were actually two sets of instructions included; 1. For using the pizza oven with gas 2. For using the pizza oven with pellets, which is what we chose to do. Set up was quick and as instructed, before we used it to cook any food, we lit it and let it burn for 30 minutes while empty to burn off any remaining factory residues. The next day, we fired it back up and cooked our first homemade pizza and it turned out great! The pizza oven includes a pizza stone that fit's a 12" pizza well. The only extra purchase we made was for a large pizza spatula (I forgot their actual name!) I look forward to using this oven more once the weather warms up, I'm excited to try some more recipes and other types of foods..such as steaks! ... show more

  • Fun oven!
BIG HORN OUTDOORS 12" Multi-Fuel Pizza Oven, Pellet & Gas Outdoor Pizza Oven with Pizza Stone, Dual Fuel 12 Inch Pizza Maker, Outdoor Cooking Grill (12'' pellet + gas) I love this pizza oven! And honestly, it’s not the oven’s fault that I burned my first pizza! 😂 You really do need to keep an eye in it! The oven is mostly out together so is very easy to get it set up. It’s great that you can choose between propane or pellets. We chose to use propane the first time, mostly because we had propane but no pellets! As soon as the weather warms up, and we’re cooking outside more consistently, I will definitely get the pellets for this oven. The propane was very nice though and easy. We are very pleased with this, and definitely recommend it. ... show more
