Ended up using this car camping when I didn’t feel like buying a midway $200 tent that I’d replace with something more expensive later. Weight? Obviously not a lightweight or close to an UL tent. The weight listed is accurate. Set up took about 5-10 minutes the first time. I purchased the footprint for tent and would suggest getting it as well due to the bottom being thin. The temperatures varied from 40F to about 65-70F andI had no issues with condensation in the tent. Ventilation worked well and it has extra vent that can be opened and closed via Velcro (while not the best, they work). You can easily take the rain fly off if you need more ventilation in case of hot weather. My favorite part? It performed perfect during a storm. Zero water made it inside the tent. It was windy and with the guy-lines there was little to no noise. While there was some movement it wasn’t enough to detract from sleep. Inside is enough for two people snugly with a little gear. For one person it fit me and everything I brought with room to spare. Each corner has a small mesh storage pocket. There is a hook to hang a light off of in the middle. It also includes a mesh basket that can be attached in place of the hook for additional storage. Long story short: Water proof. Easy to setup. Car camping. Get the footprint. This tent is WONDERFUL! For the price, I am blown away by the quality. You do not need to spend $200+ on a Big Agnes. I used this tent 10+ times this summer, several times in rain storms, and never once had water leakage. I did purchase the Bessport footprint and use that well (would recommend to protect the bottom of the tent and prolong its life), but I am confident this tent would be waterproof even without the footprint. The setup could not be easier. One of my favorite things about this tent is its breathability- you can roll the fly completely up to allow maximum airflow, or zipper it down to insulate for colder weather camping. The design is phenomenal. All zippers run smoothly. There is no gear loft overhead, but there are four pockets located inside at each corner of the tent, along with good-sized vestibules for gear storage directly under the fly when you stake it out. It is not the smallest or lightest tent you'll find, but it is manageable for backpacking. The only thing I would change: make it longer. I'm 5'8", and when I slept with my 40L Deuter backpack above my head, my feet were almost touching the bottom. This was not a real issue for me but may be for someone who is any taller than I am. There isn't really room to store a pack next to you while you sleep, but a taller person could store a backpack outside (under the fly, in the vestibule). Overall, a fantastic purchase- I will use this tent for many years to come! **update: lol I was a gear newbie when I wrote that^ This tent is great but is super heavy (like 5+ pounds). I like the light weight, overall size, and ease of set up with this tent. I purchased a 3 person tent, knowing I would bring a kid with me and I wanted room to put gear inside. A queen size mattress fits, but a full size gives some space. I am short, so the height was not an issue, I could sit on a small camp chair inside when there was rain. I would not think this tent is great for 3 people, unless all you did was sleep like a mummy. It was easy to set up. I liked the adjustable corner buckle clips that hold the rain-fly. The vent triangle did not provide a ton of ventilation when the rein-fly is on, but it did provide some, and the 2 doors do help. Suggestions for improvement include using a more sturdy zipper. The zipper was a HUGE disappointment. Flimsy. Second suggestion would be to use c-clips to attach the rain-fly to the tent poles. The current rain-fly setup uses little string ties that are awkward to tie because you have to reach underneath the fly. I ended up with a knot. Grrr. A c-clip would be easier. I did find some for purchase, and they are a simple fix, requiring only that I tie them on. Now I can just clip the rain-fly instead of trying to get underneath, between the fly and the tent. All in all, not a bad tent for the price. I will use it for spring, summer, and fall camping but not likely for winter. [Oh, and I did get a bigger storage bag. Really, can anyone actually fold these things back up as small as the bag they came in?] ... show more
