My grandson is 3.5 years, average frame, and the starting seat measurement is perfect. Right at 21" from low back to bottom of foot. Berg Toys Junior Buddy - White This is the second Berg Junior Buddy we have purchased as a gift for a child within our family. My husband continues to be impressed with the quality and performance of this pedal go cart; he has assembled both vehicles after their delivery which occurred three years apart. He believes the engineering and performance of this toy's features are consistent with a safe breaking system, unobstructed visibility for the child driver, and accurate and responsive steering. The Berg Junior Buddy unexpectedly attracts considerable public attention when first seen in motion. We didn't anticipate how fast, smoothly and quietly, this toy vehicle can be propelled by pedal power alone. It never fails, both children and adults approach and inquire: Is it motorized? Is it custom made? How fast can it go? Can I try it? Where do you get one? Grown men are especially interested in the engineering. The children in our family wear safety helmets. My husband also mounts a Berg Safety Flag unit behind the driver's seat.. however, he is not satisfied with either the color (for optimum visibility) or the weight (wind sock flutter) .of the actual Berg Flag so he purchases a replacement flag. On her birthday, our 3 year old grand niece seated herself in the "pink car" and within minutes announced, "I drive just like Mommy." They have a large, flat driveway where we chalked a racing oval (with short cuts) on the surface for her to practice "revving her engine, braking on command and driving within her lane." It was truly amazing how skilled she quickly became maneuvering this pedal go cart, especially when compared to a tricycle, which is a tribute to the Berg design and quality manufacture. ... show more

The cart looks great! No cheap plastic fru-fru. The transmission is awesome and works like a charm, the frame is well designed and made and quite stout while being easy enough to be taken down for moving the cart in your car to the park or storing it, and the inflatable tires are spot on even if the plastic wheels are not the best. My only real gripes are that only one rear wheel is driven and effected by the brake. The way this is made, it would have been easy to have a single rear axle linking both rear wheels so both would be driven and braked taking this car into the realm of greatness. My other gripe is that the seat (which is adequate if not particularly good) does not adjust far enough forward for my 4 year old (who it was bought for) to be able to reach the pedals well enough to power it (another inch and a half and it would work). The boy is not pleased with Santa this year. His 10 year old sister has driven it all over the neighborhood and loves it though, even if she looks funny with her knees sticking out to the side because it is too little for her. ... show more

I picked this up for my six-year-old daughter’s birthday. Assembly was easier than I expected and I did not need any of my own tools to complete it. I do recommend filling the tires up with air before installing them because the valve stems are on the inside of the tire. It is surprisingly fast and delivers a very smooth ride. I bought two of these karts for my boys for Christmas. My boys are 6 and 3 (soon to be 4). They are strong kids, large for their age and are very use to utilizing their two wheel bikes, tricycles and such on a weekly basis. When we got these karts, we were excited to be able to have the boys use these items on all types of terrain. We didn't spend time reading the reviews on the product and we just ordered it so they would be here for the Holidays. Overall, the product seems to be made quite sturdy, solid and of good construction. They were quite easy to assemble and the items were well packaged. However, the karts are very heavy and they are extremely difficult to pedal. My boys would sit on the karts and we would have to push start them to get them going. They would have to continuously pedal or else the kart would come to an immediate holt and they would not be able to start up again on their own without assistance. The karts don't maintain momentum, they are difficult to get going and they are also tough to steer. Overall, i would not recommend these karts for children under 8, however, there isn't much space between the pedals and steering wheel, so you can't have long legs to pedal or you will end up hitting your knees on the steering wheel. Not a good purchase. Also, our vendor was a true disappointment, and led me to have to trust in Amazon to get my refund back. ... show more
