  • A good tall tripod, could be better
Style: Carbon Fiber Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 4 Section Long
I own several Benro products, for the most part I am pleased with them. My single complaint on this particular tripod is the center column collar. It really has to be torqued down to make sure it doesn't move when a heavier camera/lens combo is put on it. Other than that, I recommend it.

  • Best tripod!
Style: Aluminum Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 3 Section Long
This tripod is fantastic and half or even quarter the price of other brands, yet it has all the features and comparable build quality if not better than some of the higher priced tripods. Rock solid even in windy conditions when completely extended. This is a top of the line tripod at a fraction of the cost of other name brands. I have friends that have manfrotto gear and it's not even built as well as this is. I purchased the gearhead to go with it and with the tripod and gearhead it meets or exceeds the quality of other name brand setups much more expensive than this. This is a high-end product at low end pricing. I would highly recommend this tripod series to anyone. I currently have the aluminum style but plan on purchasing the carbon fiber for photography expeditions. Same exact tripod only a little lighter than the aluminum version. Depending on what version of The Mach 3 series you purchase it even can be transformed into a monopod. Comes with a swap out short Center column for extremely low shots, changeable spiked tips for dirt, sand or gravel set up. Hands down the best tripod for the money!!! I would highly recommend this tripod to anyone looking for a quality piece of equipment that will last for years! I will definitely be purchasing another aluminum Mach 3 series for additional cameras and a carbon fiber Mach 3 series for a lighter alternative for backpacking photography excursions. ... show more

  • A twist latch new convert
Style: Aluminum Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 3 Section Long
Sturdy, smooth, solid, reliable. I use it thoroughly every single day and have for a few months now. Not one little gripe can I muster. Max height, min height, mid height, all the tricky tripod hacks to boot. I'm a real estate photographer and often run this thing through a wide range of configurations in a single home photoshoot, then chuck it in my car without a care. I haven't even had to tighten any bolts yet. That being said, I wanted a heavy, sturdy, rugged tripod. If lightweight+small packing is important to you, then you're probably not on this page in the first place so who am I even writing this line for? This one is a winner through and through for me. ... show more

  • Sturdy and solid.
Style: Carbon Fiber Tripod Size: 2 Series/ 3 Section
A nice 2 leg extension tripod. I use it with a manfrotto tripod head for mounting a seaport case with laptop onto it. Holds up well and it has a solid sturdy feel when up and running around. The locks are perfect and the carbon lightweight is great.

  • Quality
Style: Aluminum Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 3 Section Long
I also have another Benroe (the XL) that I've had for years. I wonder if the leg tightening mechanisms will hold out indefinitely. The other day I thought I felt some looseness when I tried to tighten one of the leg extensions. But it held on--the leg did not give way. If the tightening mechanism ever gives way I'll try to update this review. So far, so good though. This has been a quality stand for the price. ... show more

  • Tripod is heavy and sturdy
Style: Aluminum Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 3 Section Long
I found the Benro tripod very stable. The collar for adjusting the center post is large and easy to adjust. Also the height without the center post extended is easily high enough for 6' persons. Its a bit heavy-but that's what makes it stable.

  • Seems good for astrophotography
Style: Carbon Fiber Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 3 Section
Bought this based on positive research into carbon fiber tripods. Seems up to the task of mounting a tracker and photographic equipment. Seems sturdy and well built. Letโ€™s see how it lasts. So far I am pleased

  • A great tripod with pro quality and features at a price that is affordable.
Style: Aluminum Tripod Size: 3 Series/ 3 Section Long
I was very happy with my 200 dollar travel tripod until I purchased a long lens. 200-600 zoom. Suddenly I had 2 new problems. Being a travel tripod it was designed and built with light components. With a mirrorless camera and a standard lens using the tripod was not a problem. Throwing a long lens on there and whoops, shake city. I tried every trick I could find but only one thing could fix it. A solid sturdy tripod. I spent days researching and evaluating and decided on this Benro model. Iโ€™m a serious amateur but I have a limited budget and went with the aluminum version of this model at 1/2 the price. I donโ€™t hike 15 miles with my gear so this was a no brainer. I ordered the Benro gimbal with this but that is in a separate review. This tripod is a huge step up from my travel unit. Three section leg design, less wiggle on joints, larger tubing, 1โ€ vs 1/4โ€ on the smallest tube, Benro vs my travel unit. More stops, wider head plate, easier securing rings and amazing quality. I would recommend this to everyone. I have looked at the high end 1K units in the store and they simply donโ€™t offer an upgrade over this that can come close to justifying the price. If you like big brand names and price doesnโ€™t matter go for it but if you want to spread your money around on heads or other equipment this is absolutely the way to go. I put a borrowed head on this and it is rock solid. No shake no missed photos anymore. Great purchase. ... show more
