  • Sturdy light weight antenna stand.
This tripod worked very well once I added a trio of security hold down straps to secure the antenna to the tripod. Without the attachments it would be very easy to fall off during windy days. The attachments could be very simple and easily fashoned by the purcheser. I did not want to use screws that required tools to secure the antenna. ... show more

  • The tripod works just fine to hold our King tailgator
The tripod works just fine to hold our King tailgator. It would be nice if they had attached a clamp that would secure the dish onto the tripod instead of just sitting on it. In windy conditions, the dish can blow off.

  • Caused dish to lose signal
I had seen reviews about how the dish could blow off in a storm. I was sure I could fix that. What I didn't expect was that little more than a breeze would be enough for it to lose the signal. On a typical day in Kansas it is unusable. I suspect a storm would blow the dish off of the tripod. The tripod appears to have been made for another purpose and adapted for a tailgater dish. King should provide a system to get it just far enough to get the dish off the ground to avoid puddles, drainage and splashing. ... show more

  • Poorly assembled and a bad design.
Some way to level the stand would be nice. Adjustable legs? Some way to secure the dish to the stand is needed. But the really bad part is the three fold down arms do not hold the Dish properly. All three arms fold open past being level and flat. This sag at the ends make the Dish sit only on the one long arm, unable to touch the ends of the other two sagging arms. The Dish is then able to wobble back and forth like a table with uneven legs. In this case the floor for the dish is so uneven that the dish is supported by one arm only. If the holes to connect these arms had been drilled in the proper location the arms would function properly. I will shim the arms to level them. Then I will some how latch the Dish to the stand as just sitting it on the stand is unacceptable to me. The price is too high for what you get, and then you have to work on it to get it to work properly. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
Buyer beware!!!! We purchased this in May, took it to the mountains and spent 3 months thinking it was operator error. Finally call a satellite tech to come up into the campground and help us set it up. He found it faulty. :( passed the 30 days to return to Amazon, called King company, NOBODY speaks English even when you select the number for English. Now stuck with expensive item that is worthless- where do I go now??? ... show more

  • Great
It holds the Tailgater very well, keeps it off the ground, light weight and a snap to open and close. It stores in a nice slim carrying case . Sometimes I have to level it with pieces of wood ,but that's ok. I like it very much and it's much better then keeping it on the ground . At the campgrounds, keeping it elevated is better for when people walk by, there isn't always interference ,and also sometimes when cars go by.It seems the angle of the tailgaters dish is higher and goes over things ,but not all the time if things are too close. ... show more

  • My VQ 4500 fits it and works like it should.
It is easy to set up, light weight and the carrying bag is great. Cardboard boxes don't last that long. I thought the height was adjustable, but doesn't seem to be. Shipping came a day late, and the only tracking updates were arriving and departing carrier facilities. No logistics were provided.

  • Just sits on the top of tripod...NOTE: Nothing to secure your dome to it.
Like that is is lightweight, keeps the dome off the ground and nice carrying bag. Fits my King Tailgater on it, BUT...if you have high winds, might be a bit concerned. Three clamps would have been great to anchor it to the tripod.
