Now before I start out, these are not by any means competition speakers so they aren’t going to blow your hair all around when you play some rap. However they will rattle some stuff around in your car so they are pretty good. Those competition speakers are $500+ for the speaker alone, Moving on; Tuning: I have seen a few reviews saying they are experiencing problems with overheating, if your gain is maxed out that is exactly why your amp is overheating because you are capping your subs. To properly tune your amp you need a oscilloscope and set it to 20v a/c at 5ms and play a 40hz sound mid volume. If your wavelengths flatten out at the top that’s called “capping” and will destroy a subwoofer and amp and ultimately overheat. Your gain should be around 50%, your head unit is what sends the signal how hard to hit. If you don’t have an oscilloscope then take it to a professional and they can tune it for you. I’ve seen way too many car fires from improper tuning of an amplifier then they blame the manufacturer. Next, these sound really good in a hatchback and suv…. Like really good. In a truck/car in the trunk, face your speakers towards the back seat and you’ll get a good sound. Unfortunately they aren’t really good in a convertible but really finding one that will work in a convertible is extremely difficult to do because limited space and top down you’ll loose a lot of sound. They are absolutely well worth the money. Great starter subs for sure. Not a competition speaker but a great speaker for rock music and some rap. Don’t hesitate to purchase them and follow my instructions for proper tuning. Happy buying! You will not regret it ... show more

If I could leave ZERO stars I would’ve!! Your better off going with something from skar audio!!!! I bought this for my sedan and it literally makes no more bass then my rear deck subs that come stock with the car, not to mention the fact that the bass sounds horrible!!! Wouldn’t buy Belva again

Great bang for your buck. Sound is good have had no problems other than those who installed. Only downfall is it cost just as much to get installed and there is a peice thats still needed to be purchased to make it work.

So I've owned the two 10" version, the two 12" version, and now the one 12" version of this subwoofer package in different vehicles, and hands down for the money spent, this is an amazing subwoofer package! This one 12" subwoofer with the included amp rounds out the Bose system perfectly in my Infiniti SUV, and honestly provides more bass than I needed/expected. I never thought a subwoofer package that costs less than $200 would put out enough clean bass to shake mirrors in a large SUV. I removed the subwoofer and added the proper amount of poly-fill into the subwoofer box, and topped it off with the NVX 12" grille that fit this perfectly (NVX NV12GR is the part # for anyone interested) for added protection against the sub. Before adding poly-fill to the box, the lows were present but not "powerful". After poly-fill, the subwoofer fills the cabin with some real good solid low end bass. From my own experience, this 12" package does an excellent job at adding the missing low end bass from a factory or slightly modified sound system. If you have your door speakers on a separate 4-channel amp, the subs still pound but I recommend upgrading the subwoofer amp. I did this on the package with two 12s in a different SUV and the system was definitely able to keep up after adding a larger subwoofer amp. You'd be surprised what these subwoofers can sound like with a little bit more power (in my case, a true 500 watt RMS amp with each sub seeing about 250 watts RMS). No clipping or distortion...just clean solid enjoyable bass that fits any type of music! As with all reviews I leave here on Amazon, I will update if any issues arise from any of these subwoofer packages I have purchased. I don't know what the speaker box is made of but it smells like a dead animal and stinks up my truck I don't think I'm going to be able to use it it's that bad

I bought just the subwoofer, I already have an enclosure for it. My LG HiFi system puts out 280 watt RMS at 3 ohms. I took a gamble because this sub is nominal ohms at 2. Everything works great for my man cave.
