  • AFFORDABLE, BUT REQUIRES SOME ELBOW GREASE AND PROPER RE ASSEMBLY
bought the hybrid racing no cut shifter for my first k swap, didnt want to spend close to 500 dollars again so i tried this one out. lots and i mean lots of loose hardware, multiple hardware pieces were missing, shifter mechanism was ready to fall apart. once you take it apart, double check all hardware (i recommend orange locktight, blue works well also, definitely do not recommend red unless you are ready to extract the smaller hardware, just not enough vibration/mechanical movement to justify red locktite) the shifter itself is on par with the hybrid racing unit. i hope BULL BOOST reads these, if they had a bit more attention to quality control and final assembly, i believe they have one of the best if not the best shifter mechanism for the price. especially if you dont want those god awful, ricer, ebay billet k swap units and want to keep your chassis clean. ... show more

  • Shifter works great but requires a lot of setup time.
First off the design of the shifter is good, shift pattern is a bit diagonal but easy to get used to. Fitment is great and fits exactly how it's suppsed to, only requiring the user to drill a couple 5/16" holes. The bad however is the support bearing on the passenger side of the shifter shaft hub has an inner diameter larger than the hub that is meant to fit snug within it which makes it extremely sloppy. I had to pack the bearing housing full of grease and add a washer under the hub retaining bolt to pull the shifter hub into the shifter frame to eliminate the slop. ALL of the hardware on the shifter is low quality and sucks. I went to Ace Hardware and get higher quality equivalents which wasn't hard to find and I thread locked them all in place as well as jb welded some that will never need to come apart. The hub that controls that transmits the transverse movement of the shifter has two tiny little screws that get loose no matter what even after replacing the hardware so you must install lock washers under them and they'll finally stay put. Overall it's exactly what I needed and works great but this isn't something you can just buy and throw on your car or it will quickly fall apart, you have to carefully go over it, replace the stainless hardware and red threadlock EVERYTHING. ... show more

  • Unfortunately, terrible.
K-Tune doesn't make this one anymore, so I gave it a shot. More slop than the cable had travel. Huge play in every joint. Sadly, a waste of $200. Wall art.
