  • Black shifter for manual jeep jk
Wow loved it. It is almost 1" shorter but does work. I replaced my factory stick shiftier because the factory gear shift is too close in 1st gear to my Atlas shiftier. But I did need to heat it up and bent it completely straight so my hand clears the Atlas shiftier. So my advice would be to completely remove the rod from the base since 4 rubber O rings are inside and would melt if you don't. I also like the ball knob it came with. Looks cool! I think it looks better than the factory! I do have a 1.75" body lift so you can find an adapter to correct how close the new shiftier is ti the console in 2 & 4th gear. But looks GREAT and a lot cheaper then B&M's. For what ever reason it feels like it's shifting better. Perhaps the rubber bushing in the original was really worn down. I have over 250K miles on my 2007 JK 2 door. Love the look! Would recommend as long as your Jeep does not look better than mine! LOL!!! The first two picture is OEM shifter and you can see the factory bend. On the new one i bent it completely straight but left the curve up. The following pictures are the new shifter after being bent so the shaft from the transmission mount is straight but bent slightly up. ... show more

  • It's a $110 rod, but buy it.
The jeep should have come from the factory with this. This has no rubber bushing like the stock part, so deadzone is reduced by at least 100%. Shorter throw, but not difficult to shift by any means. Don't expect your jeep to be a racecar. You'll need the $500 B&M shift block to get close to that. Other reviewers said they had to counterbore this part or use a longer hold down bolt. I did not need to do either of these. I chamfered the lower edge of the opening, applied silicone lube to the input shaft, and tapped the shifter on with a wooden dowel. The bolt will grab, just keep tapping moderately. Make sure you align the rod so that it does not come close to the center console in 2nd gear position. Mine would hit the console on firmer 2nd shifts and I had to take the console out and realign the rod a bit. There is a lot to adjust to fit your arm/seat position. ... show more

  • Love love love
This made the shifting experience in my 2012 JK much more enjoyable and took a lot of the slop out of the shifter. The shifting is, I dare say, sport-like and crisp. I am glad I went this route before buying the gear box which runs ~$500. This is a pretty solid knock-off of the B&M shifter and is well made. As others have said it is a tight fit so having a longer bolt will help draw the new shifter down the shaft. If you are having issues getting the old one off, use some PB blaster and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and give it a tug. It will slide right off. The retaining nut used to secure the shifter ball is not needed with the provided shifter knob. Over-all I am really happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Buy this one, not B&M one
It is damn near the same as the B&M shifter for twice the price. I gave it only 4 stars because the threads where the shifter knob goes on I had to run a tap over since they were painted. That was a pain to clean them up but I finally did. This also fixed some of the sloppy feel the stock shifter. I was also able to clock the shifter to where it is comfortable for me. First pick is 1st gear and the second pick is sixth gear. No more far reaching while driving. ... show more

  • Switching to a threaded lever makes it easier to change the handle.
I had to clean the paint out of the opening before it would fit onto the transmission’s shaft. Doing away with the rubber cushion on the factory lever makes it a tighter mount and does away with the slop that it had before.

  • Work smart!
ATTENTION : if you are looking to buy this, make sure to get yourself a new and longer bolt. The factory bolt holding the stock shifter will not screw onto the new shifter!!! Holla at me if u want to know how i installed mine!

  • Great shifter Stick
This is much stiffer than the original shifter stick. I was hoping this was going to solve my problem of the shifter popping out of first gear. Sadly it did not. I did replace the shifter with the B&M performance short shifter and that fixed it. This shifter stick goes right onto either shifter.
