Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. I researched covers for my Ridgeline extensively and settled on a roll-up BAK. Assembly was straight forward, directions/YT video provided me with what I needed to install it and that took me a few hours. Low profile, very secure, looks great and the only leaks I have right now are in the two back corners that don't impact anything I would have in the back. I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. I ordered this bed cover. It arrived promptly through Amazon. However, the Honda Ridgeline application requires a special set of brackets and a second set of side rails that were not included in the initial shipment. I had to watch videos on YouTube to figure out what was missing. I called the manufacturer. She was very pleasant and helpful. She shipped the missing parts the next day and I received them two days later. I had no other issues. I would buy again. Be aware the necessary side rails prevent one from fully opening the in-bed trunk lid. It still opens plenty wide though. ... show more

I purchased a BakFlip MX4 for my 2021 Honda Ridgeline. The first thing you will notice upon opening the box is "Made In USA" writing so I was all excited thinking this thing was going to be top quality. However, the cheap quality of the panels themselves was my first disappointment. They are not a hard, durable material with a rich black pigment which I was expecting - they are more of a flimsy styrofoam with a porous dry crackle finish. The install was straightforward although I was constantly thinking to myself, this doesn't seem like it's watertight at all. The design for the prop sticks that hold it open when folded seem to have been designed on a Friday afternoon before a holiday. All of the fasteners and seals are standard China whitebox; several pieces were broke and just plain fell off during the install; Bak Industries is sending me the replacements. There are these drain tubs that are supposed to go into drain holes which I have confirmed the Ridgeline does not have. Saying this tonneau fits a Ridgeline is a questionable statement with that as fact. I called support at Bak Industries and was told to run those into plastic bottles and empty them when they are full; I assure you that is not a joke and 100% truth. We had a good rain storm last night and sure enough the bed is full of water. It leaked it from the front seal, the side seals, and of course the drain tubes. I've ordered a tube of permatex black silicone and unfortunately will have to try and seal up this brand new tonneau cover on a new truck. I have had cheap tonneau covers in the past on other trucks and never really had a problem with leaking. This product is not something I would purchase again or recommend to family and friends. ... show more

Had some reservations about buying and installing this myself. Took about 1.5 hours to install and it is definitely user friendly. By installing it myself I saved $400 compared to a local company that wanted $1400 for the cover and an additional $250 for installation. I installed an MX4 yesterday on a 2019 Ridgeline with my stepson. It took us a couple of hours. Here are the pros and cons as I see them: PROS * Looks nice when closed. * Clever design (folding completely up to clear the bed). CONS * Incredibly flimsy construction. The "latches" are plastic and can easily be popped open with a flathead screwdriver...so not secure at all. The plastic and foam bumpers for the tailgate like to fall out when you look at them sideways. And the absolutely hilarious claim is that the panels can support "400 lbs" when evenly distributed. LOL. The panels don't support anything more than 20 lbs without bowing, sagging, and separating all over the place...so we won't be attempting to strap anything onto the top...ever. * Ridiculously expensive for the poor craftsmanship. Rivets are sloppy with lots of loose metal sticking out around them. Nothing lines up or connects together without a LOT of finessing and wiggling (rails, fasteners, etc.). There were scratches across two of our panels that looked like they were from the factory (very straight and sharply defined). Even the product stickers just fell off after installation. I cannot believe this company gets away with charging so much for such shoddy workmanship. And here's a little salt in the wound: When I was walking around my neighborhood after we installed ours, I saw someone else's on another pickup. The panels were unevenly faded by the sun, the rubber seals were distorted and uneven from use, and the panel closest to the tailgate wasn't closing properly anymore. So...I guess we have that to look forward to. Of course, I'm not going to take the time to return this unfortunate purchase. We are taking a trip and needed a tonneau cover, and the OEM covers have been discontinued due to the Honda recall. So this is what we'll have to live with. Shame on you, BAK, and caveat emptor to everyone who gets suckered by the advertising and five-star reviews. ... show more

    • A Must Have For Honda Ridgline.
I am very happy with my purchase of this BAK Revolver X4s Hard rolling truck bed tonneau cover. It looks good and fits good like it came from the factory are better. Easy to install by following the instructions closely. If you are not mechanically inclined to work with tools, please seek help.
