So easy to grow and has everything you need. It’s a great activity for a couple or even a larger stocking stuffer for holidays. Pigeon pea sprouted after only 3 days, while the others trailed behind. So rewarding to see growth so quick.

I absolutely love this kit! It has everything you need to plant your bonsai trees. The little tools are so cute but very helpful in the process especially to break up the soil discs included. The planting bags are amazing. They have a drainage hole at the bottom to avoid root rot. Please make sure you read the booklet included because it really does go over everything which was appreciated. I had sprouting within a few days. Three of the seeds did not germinate but it’s possible it’s due to the weather changing and temps dropping in my area. I will try again in the spring which the extra seeds they send you in the kit. I planted them about two months ago and the seeds that sprouted have continued to grow. It is a challenge however, with the temps as I mentioned. My daughter and I had fun planting the bonsai trees. I noticed they have other kits too and I can’t wait to try them. Not only was this a great mother-daughter activity, it encouraged discussing the plant cycle for my homeschooled child. This would make a great gift also for the plant/nature lover. The price point is great. They include everything you need except water and sun. It’s perfect! ... show more

This little kit has established in me a new love for gardening and plants. I had no idea what to expect when I first purchased this kit but I was pleasantly surprised by just about everything. The instructions were nice and clear and even gives you tips for better germination chances. The seed bags are of good quality and are made perfectly for the growth of the seedling. Just make sure you don't get the outer bag too wet outer it can drop the temperature of your soil (hence why I also purchased a warming matt and honestly it was a great additive with the germination and root development process). I sowed my seeds on the 5th of June and the seeds that sprouted are doing very well. The only tree I didn't get to sprout yet was myrtle crape but that was partially my fault as I don't think I chose the right part of the seeds (these ones are small and tricky compared to the others). I am loving my little sprouts so far and am excited to see them progress more. The only little thing I would include with the instructions would maybe to scarrify the delonix regia seeds on the pointy end (with the little tips/stem remains) so that a little bit of the white inner seed shows before soaking for 24 hrs. This will increase the odds of your seed germinating as the shell of this seed in particular is really really hard and is harder for the inner seed to absorb any water when soaking. I took 5 delonix regia seeds and snipped 2 out of the 5. The 2 that were snipped were the only 2 that grew. I only knew to do that thanks to the internet but I am still incredibly impressed with the quality of the seeds that were provided (and the amount of extra seeds provided was a pleasant surprise as well!) All in all, this kit is great and I would definitely buy it again. Just look at them GROW!! ... show more

This is a fun way to get started growing some small trees. Naturally, they’re not going to turn into bonsai by magic, but they’re a good starting point. Pros: - Soil packs make it easy to get started. Much easier than using seed starting soil from a bag - Seed packets offer a good variety to get started with - The instructions for planting seeds are easy to follow - Overall, the box, bags, seeds and soil will have you up and running quickly - The “sprouting assurance” (or whatever they call it) is nice to have. Cons: - The seeds do not all have the same germination period. Delonix regia and Crape Myrtle have longer germination times. This is not clear from the instructions, so be patient. - The included tools are garbage. The handles will fall off. - The instructions could be a little better regarding germination times. I’d also like it if they included some guidance as to what to do next (I have a plant—now what do I do?) I would buy again for someone else if the occasion arises. ... show more
