The media could not be loaded. The litter box completely freed my hands and I installed it when I got home. It was very easy and convenient. Just plug it in and connect the app. All information operations can be performed on the mobile phone. We have to clean every day or two, and now it's totally automatic. The room is much cleaner and no smell. I also bought a catlink litter box before, and after rotating and dumping the whole machine to clean it, it got stuck after a while. Easy to break down. First some background: Our cat is a 12 year old ragdoll in excellent health - he is large at about 12 pounds so finding a litter box can be a challenge. For the last 10 years or so we have been using the automatic scooping Littermaid self cleaning litter box. The Littermaid was OK but required a good cleaning of the whole box about once a month. The Littermaid finally died and is no longer available so we were on the hunt for a new self cleaning cat box. A couple of things to note about this review: 1) I do not often write reviews unless something stands out as really good or really bad and warrants letting others know my experience. 2) I have learned to read product reviews and understand if there are legitimate complaints or just someone mad about their purchase or wanting a refund or credit due to user error or incompetence, so when I do my research I use a weighted average of existing reviews and read A LOT. That being said, I was somewhat leery about this brand as it is not as well known as the Litter Robot. I was looking for the most maintenance free cat box I could find that was easy to clean, did not require special litter or crystals, and was not the size of a small refrigerator. We took a shot on the LALAHome litter box pro, and honestly I was very skeptical it would be a quality product and would work as intended. I have to say, after 2 weeks, I am a HUGE fan of this product. Shipping to CA took longer than initially expected, but once arrived it took me about an hour to read through the instructions and have it all set up. First off, it was very easy to set up if you read through everything ahead of time before you start. The instructions are decent, not great, but I am handy and took my time to understand the machine and how it worked. Basically, you fill the easy to remove bottom tray where the cat does his business, put a bag in the receptacle, and then put it in place. From there I reset the machine so the top litter dispenser was aligned properly and then emptied an entire box of litter in the top storage container. I then downloaded the app and connected the device and we were off to the races. We used all of the same brand litter for both this and our previous cat box, so the only thing different is the box itself. We placed our cat near the box and although he was slightly curious he would not go in. Over the next several hours we would bring him to the box, and a couple of times we placed him inside and tried to get him comfortable being in a covered box (his cat box was always open). The first day he urinated in the cat box, but the 2nd day we found cat poop just outside the litterbox so he did not use it. By the third day, he was totally used to it, and the self cleaning has been working fantastic. The app lets you know when your cat visits the box, so for the first week we would check that everything was working as it should. I think the rake method is better than the rotating style based on my research and speaking to a couple of people that have the Litter Robot, but I do not have personal experience with the LR. After about a week, the LALAHOME app notified my that it had refilled the litter tray, and sure enough it worked perfectly. In the end we chose this cat box because of the self re-filling litter and the smaller size as compared to the LR. Some highlights: This machine is extremely quiet, especially compared to our old Littermaid box. I am not sure if it is the design of the entrance or what, but we have VERY little cat litter that makes it outside the box. We have a towel just outside the entrance (same as with the old box) but there is almost zero litter tracking outside the box. It is fantastic to store an entire box of litter in the machine and not have to find a place for it, or worry about manually refilling the box regularly. The waste is super easy to empty, simply close the bag and lift our the waste - much better than fighting with the old plastic trays that did not like to come out and lids that never stayed on. One final note is that the odor control is outstanding. I am not sure if it is because the cat box is covered or the design of how the waste is disposed of or the sanitizing feature, but in comparison to our old cat box there is almost no noticeable odor from the LALAHOME compared to the Littermaid, which often had a strong urine odor and had to be cleaned more thoroughly all over. To summarize, we were very skeptical yet were hoping for the best - LALAHOME exceeding our expectations. So far it is superior in every way to a traditional cat box or our previous self cleaning box. One thing I wish I had done and would suggest, is to fill the litter tray with some litter from the old cat box to encourage your cat to use it for the first time. I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a nearly maintenance free solution that controls odor this is definitely a great choice. ... show more
