Had one a few years ago, love it. Motor stopped. Went to look for it and found it again at lower price. It cuts well, super sharp, can do a trash bag worth of documents before overheating. Not the fastest shredder but very usable for the price

So my last shredder stopped working. Seems they simply do not last long even when you maintain the unit. I have owned a few and the last two have simply barely lasted a year with light to medium use. I get tired of paying for stuff that breaks within days of the warranty expiring. When i chose this one I chose it off price and supposedly size. This one is smaller than my last shredder and much louder. It is shredding for it does not seem to have the ability to shred more than 2 pages of paper at a time as it slows down. I am not sure about shredding a credit card in here, that may kill this unit. I was hoping this unit would handle a few sheets as described but it seems these units are simply less and less of a shredding machine than in years past. I do not see this unit lasting much more than a year even under minimal use. I seriously was simply considering to pay the $1.99 per pound price and take my papers to be shredded but I worry about my info being out there with a person on the other end shredding the info but it may end up being more cost effective in the long run as it takes a long time to get a pound of paper and to have it shredded for me for that might just be the way to go. As I said, this works as it should but it is loud and not the fastest or seemingly the strongest. It will handle shredding home papers but do not expect this to handle shredding f a lot of papers or all day long ... show more
