While I wouldn't use this shampoo for washes that require a root to end clean, this is a really nice scalp shampoo. It left my hair soft, doesn't have much of a scent at all, and for about an hour after washing and rinsing, I could still feel a cleansing tingle on my scalp. I love all of AS I AM products. This and the rosemary conditioner & shampoo are my favorite! The rice water shampoo is the best. Easy to apply to scalp because of the nozzle on it which I personally love. The smell is light but you can smell it, nothing unbearable or harsh. Makes my hair really soft and definitely sets my hair for a good blow out. It lathers pretty good so a little does go a long way. But, for some reason shipping took much longer than normal and when I finally got it, the bottle had leaked. When I went to use it the nozzle on the cap seemed to be broken because it was barely coming out. So I unscrewed the whole thing and of course spilled a bunch of it.
