    • Good product - both sides are attractive for internal doors but tie back is useless

We are using this on an internal door, so the fact that the material is the same on both sides is why we bought it. It does the trick for privacy and the material is thick, which we wanted. The only negative I would say is that the tie-back is not very useful. We liked the way the curtain looked when there was a good tension between the 2 rods. But when we cinch the curtain, it put way too much tension on the curtain and rods. In order to tie back much at all, we would have needed to make the "hanging position" too loose to look good. So pick your default position when you hang the 2 rods so you are optimizing for that. ... show more

These curtains are well made, but they aren't true blackout curtains. In the attached picture the blackout curtain is on the left, and a sheer curtain in the same bank of windows is on the right. You can see that the blackout curtain offeres privacy and greatly reduces light, but it is in no way a true blackout curtain. If you want to reduce the amount of light coming in a window then this will work. If you want a true blackout curtain then look elsewhere. ... show more

I have a back door that's half door, half window, and west-facing. When the sun is setting, it heats up my dining room to about 9,000 degrees. I didn't want to completely block out this window, as my dog peers inside when he's ready to come back in, but I definitely needed something to block out some light, keep the dining room cool, and offer some privacy at night. This curtain fits perfectly at this window and still allows me (and my dog) to see through the window. We're no longer sweating while eating dinner, thanks to the cooling effect that this curtain has had by blocking a good majority of the sun during peak hours. I got light grey and it looks great against my slate blue painted dining room, and goes well with the slightly darker grey of my kitchen. One tip I read from another review is definitely get much wider than you think you need so that you have enough fabric to scrunch correctly when you tie at the middle.
