  • One robot to rule them all!
This pool cleaning robot was obviously designed and built by a team of people who actually clean pools. Everything makes sense and is designed to be efficient and convenient -- and it actually works! Attributes that distinguish this from others (this is third robot we have tried): 1. Controlled bouyancy. This robot floats when you put it in the pool, then sinks itself to bottom like a submarine. When cycle is finished it floats itself back to the surface for easy recovery. Also has surface skimming mode, so is really two-bots in one. 2. Comes with charging dock. Put robot on dock and charging begins. Remove from dock and robot is automatically in pool cleaning mode and ready to be put in water. The dock has large, widely-spaced, spring-loaded electrical contact buttons that connect with bottom of robot. Bot has no waterproof cap to remove and nothing to plug in. Remembers last cleaning settings. So easy. 3. Huge filter basket. Easy to remove and clean. Fine mesh catches even the powdery stuff that flocs and settles to the pool bottom. 4. Has ultrasonic sensor. Instead of banging into walls, stops just short and turns. 5. Has brush bar on both ends. Whichever way it is travelling, it is scrubbing and scooping. 6. Brush bar is split into two halves on each end and each half moves in the direction of the corresponding tank tread. This makes it very nimble, and spreads out the traction over a larger area, which is much kinder on vinyl liners than wheels that concentrate the turning force in their small contact patch. 7. Great with bottom drains. Has zero problems getting hung up or redirected by my twin, prominent bottom drain covers that stymied the other candidates we tried. 8. Wi-Fi connectivity. Was a little tricky to get robot on Wi-Fi as it is 2.4 GHz only. Recommend setting up guest network on your router on 2.4GHz and using that for robot (for security's sake, should use guest network only for all household IoT devices). Phone can be on regular network and will still be able to communicate with bot on guest network. Robot only connected when out of water (physics). 9. Phone app. Interface is nicely designed. Can change all modes and customize a mode. Keeps log of robot cleaning operations. Has eco mode where it does basic floor clean every other day till battery is exhausted. 10. Actually cleans. Cleaning pattern looks random, but it seems to orient itself in the pool and then go to the deep end and find the largest collection of debris straight away. I do see a little plume of discolored water from the water jet at first, but this soon fades. I think it takes a critical mass of fine debris to prime the filter basket screen to be able to collect the finest particles. This is the only bot of the 3 tried that leaves nothing behind when it is done. 11. Battery life. Claims 9.5 hours. Have not confirmed it is that long, but certainly runs longer than the other models we tried. Slow to charge, which is good for preserving battery life and indicates large capacity. Only need to recharge overnight, not to finish a job, so this has not been a factor. 12. Beautiful. Excellent fit and finish. Exudes quality. 13. Pricey. Most expensive by far, especially if you get optional dust cover for bot and charging stand so you can leave everything conveniently outside. After first week of use and bad experience with cheaper bots, have no regrets. 13. Durability. Too early to tell. Has 9 separate motors, so is complex. We'll see if it holds up. ... show more

i've been through several knock-off brands and cheaper robots and vacuums over the years. What a complete waste of money those cheaply made Chinese products were. While i believe this one is also made in china, there is absolutely nothing cheap about it. It is an absolute tank. Very, very well designed and exceedingly well manufactured. Very easy to unbox and get started. Took me three times longer to set up the app than to get the robot going. App is very cool, shows a very accurate map of your pool's bottom shape after just the first cleaning. The charging station is absolutely brilliant. Very easy to empty and clean. And of course it does an unbelievably good job of cleaning everything. I threw it in right after we opened the pool. It did all the scrubbing for me, i didn't lift a finger this year. The one and only drawback is the weight. It's very heavy. While it's not cheap it is worth every penny. I wish i had found this years ago! ... show more

  • Honest Review After First Use
Color: Navy blue
UPDATE: It’s the miracle I was hoping for. My pool Has never been cleaner. I love it! I’ve had it for around a week and as long as this thing lasts for a little while it’s worth every penny. For the cost I was expecting a miracle and it’s not quite that but it’s pretty good. I just received my Beatbot and gave it a try. Here is a full day one review . The Beatbot was very easy to setup and there is zero assembly required other than snapping two legs onto the charging station. I was able to download the Beatbot app and connect to the device quickly. It didn’t come fully charged so I let it charge for a few hours to get to 100%. Once charged I went out to drop it in the pool and see what it could do. The beat it comes with a few different modes depending on what you want it to do. You can just clean the bottom, the sides or the surface or some combination of those. I chose Pro which included all three options (floor, sides, surface). A few disclaimers, I have a large pool (about 55k gallons) with several ledges and shelves and sloped corners on the walls (not hard 90 degree corners from bottom to side wall). I’m coming from a second Polaris pressure-side cleaner that’s been doing a terrible job. I have a low bar for improvement to be happy. When the Beatbot hit the water it immediately started moving and took itself to the bottom of the pool - great start! However, when it hit the floor it just sort of sat there for a while and then started moving in a circle. That lasted maybe a minutes or two and then it started to move in a straight line. As it hit my walls it was a little confused which I read later is normal. If you have sloped corners the Beatbot will not move in a normal pattern, instead it will go into something called deep discovery where it sort of just moves along the floor in random patterns. With that being said, it did a good job on the parts of the floor where it scrubbed. In all, it probably cleaned 60-70% of the floor surface before moving on the the walls. It seemed to struggle a bit figuring out my pool walls. It would climb a wall and pause for several seconds before dropping back to the floor and trying again, often cleaning the same section of wall. It went through its cycle and probably only cleaned about 35% of the wall surface area. The surface area cleaning went well although it seemed to just push a lot of the debris around versus sucking it up but it did help push things around and get them into the skimmers. At the end the Beatbot docked itself right along the side and was easy to pull out. I was surprised at how much dirt it had collected in the basket as I keep my pool clean. It definitely did work! I sat the Beatbot on the charger and checked the app to see what reports it produces. It said it failed to create a report because it had run out of battery before completing its cycle. The app is very buggy and often requires hard closing and reopening to refresh the data (like battery life). In the end, even though I didn’t get a miracle machine, I think it will do a much better job than my previous pressure side cleaner did. I plan to try it in single cycles (floor only, side only, etc) to see if it can get more of the area done in one cycle. Not a huge sample size but I say it’s probably worth the money. ... show more
