    • Easy Swap-out for current Aprilaire Thermostat
We had a six year old unit of this model. The "increase / up" adjustment button was working only intermittently, which also made clearing programmed alerts almost impossible. We liked the unit and its flexibility, until this button issue happened. Rather than pay to have a new thermostat installed, we decided to swap out our Aprilaire 8466 with a new unit. Couldn't beat the price. Didn't even need to change the base plate, so no wiring skills required. This is the way to go if you want an inexpensive DIY fix (and you have any thermostat model you can still buy). ... show more

For Southern homeowners who need heat in the morning and air-conditioning in the afternoon, the 8466 is great! Mine has been working for more than a week and I love it! It changes between heat and air automatically, alleviating any manual switching! Since it is universal, one can choose heating/air-conditioning or a heat pump with the flip of a switch! I didn't need to replace my seven year-old Aprilaire 8365, but I needed a unit that my wife could program easily, and the 8466 fit the bill! No touch screen, just buttons and a large, brightly lit screen, and for the price, you can't beat it! However, if you want your heating temperature close to your air-conditioning temperature or you don't want your aux heat(higher bills)on in the mornings, you will need Technical Support help. Believe me, that is not a problem since their Customer Service is superb! Very quick response time and they are very thorough! It is a great company to work with! ... show more

Bought November to replace another of same make/model which failed after two-three years. This one failed after 4 months. House has two of these thermostats. I swapped them before replacing, so one of the two originals is where the first one failed, so it’s the older and still working. The new one failed in the location of the working one eliminating the possibility that the wiring or transformer is the cause. ... show more

Installed easy. I love the circulate function and that is the primary reason I bought it. No more cold spots in the house. Easy to program as well.

    • Thermostat read " off " . New batteries ... no difference. Bypassed thermostat ... everything works.
Old thermostat died after almost ten years. Unplugged old one, aligned pins and plugged in the new one. Fast delivery, very pleased with outcome.

After 10 years my original April Aire had sticky buttons. I purchased a new one and simply removed the original off of the wall plate and in less than one minute the job was DONE !!!! GREAT
