    • Warranty only if professional installs
Buyer beware. I bought this model about 2 years ago from amazon. I've installed a few thermostats in my lifetime. Worked fine for those years then would not kick on the heat unless I pulled the keypad to hard reset. Cooling worked fine. Still under warranty so contacted the manufacture, who said have your licensed installer check the unit out and if needs replaced the installer will take care of the replacement under warranty. So I'm the installer and I bought from Amazon. Amazon won't take it back. I can call a licensed installer to come see it is broken and will work with Aprilaire to replace under warranty. Unfortunately I would have to pay for the diagnostic and service call. Which would cost more than just purchasing a new unit, which I did. Works fine now. Hopefully I don't have to buy another one in a couple of years. So if you plan on installing yourself, you won't get a warranty. ... show more

    • Good Thermostat, Lousy app requires connection to their servers
The thermostat itself is high quality and functional. I got it because I just wanted to be able to control it from my phone without running downstairs; that's it. The app will not function unless you give it access to location services, which seems ridiculous even if I want to use it when I'm away from home. The worst part is that the app does not control your thermostat directly; it connects to Aprilaire's servers which then control your thermostat. This means that if their servers are down (which they are at least half the time. not exaggerating) or if your internet connection is down, the app is useless. I just want to be able to control my own device with my own phone over my own home network. This thermostat fails at that spectacularly. ... show more

    • Love my new WiFi T-Stat
Just installed this yesterday on my heat pump with oil furnace backup heat. Install was easy, just used all the same settings for my old t stat. Everything working fine, and the remote app set up was also very easy and straightforward. I am very pleased with this device

    • You need an electrical source
I followed the instructions and watched a diy video.but found out in the end you need an electrical source and a professional to install it. Sad that I could do it on my own.
