We did a lot of research and the APEC system we purchased fit all of our needs. It came superbly boxed. All items, once unboxed, were pristine. Instructions were clear and concise and APEC has a great website complete with installation videos. It was a snap to install and took us just under 3 hours to complete the task. We LOVE this RO system, we bought and returned the big berkley water filter for our horrible Las Vegas water and was sadly disappointed in what the Berkley was able to do. After a ton of research on the web and reading reviews we decided to go with APEC because you never know what you will end up with some poorly made system in china system that might break a valve and flood your home while your at work. The clean sweet flavor of good tasting clean water this system delivers is amazing. It reminds me of the water I drank from the tap when I was a kid back in the 70’s....Fresh and clean! Been using this system for 2 weeks and I will never go back to buying bottled water again. They also give you an extra set of filters and water tester which comes in handy to test the quality and to know when to replace the filters which by the way is really easy to do. To clean the system and sanitize it a friend who installed about 500 RO systems recommended once a year when you replace the filters to pour a few capfuls of hydrogen peroxide into the 3 empty chambers and clean em out with the peroxide and water solution to get rid of any crud (2 carbon, 1 sediment) then disconnect the tube where it feeds into 3 gallon tank and suck out a little water from the feeder tube and replace that water with a little bit of peroxide and re-connect it to the tank so that the peroxide goes into the tank, thank you APEC! Update 3/16/2017: Still amazing water coming out with the same filters after 2 years, I tested the water purity with the electronic gizmo they give you to test purity and its still the same! The only issue I have had is the faucet on top of the sink leaks a little when you open it for water to come out but I was a little bit too hard on it with putting to much pressure on the valve when I opened the faucet ... it was MY Fault... just me being impatient...lol. I called customer support and they offered a new one for half the price on amazon. Incredible company, first class support, and the best tasting water ever! ... show more

Our family has been using a zero water filter for years and finally had enough of refilling the thing manually so we bought this system. We live in Florida and the tap (swamp) water is terrible here so this is money well spent. The system was easy to install with the help of a handyman though after watching I could do it myself as its fairly simple. The water tastes great and using the zero water TDS water tester it reads around 10-15ppm. This is probably due to the coconut filter in the final stage. We are very sensitive to odd tasting water and this system produces a very clean taste. Wish I'd purchased one of these years ago but glad we chose this system. ... show more

I've been debating replacing an old RO system (very similar to this one) that I was tired of trying to fix and piece back together, so I bit the bullet on the RO-90 system from APEC. It's been installed for about 4 hours now, and I am very satisfied with the product. Guess the high amount of ratings actually mean something for once! Reason for purchase I am on a well and have a significant water purification setup in the basement (Brassmaster Plus and other filters) but my water is very hard still. I don't mind the hard water for showering and cleaning vehicles and washing dishes, but I wanted decent drinking water. Didn't want to waste plastic bottles to fill coffee machine, rice cooker, boiling noodles, and for the instant pot. Too much salt can wreck those. I also do some indoor gardening for fresh veggies year round, and noticed a lot of salt buildup at bottom of planters, not good for roots. Install If you have a even a faint grasp on the English language, you'll be good to go with installing yourself (the manual is plagued by Engrish - I wish these Chinese companies would hire an English speaking person to proof read these manuals, but there is charm in the broken language I guess, and it doesn't effect install in any way). If you can't read (not sure why youre in the reviews) you'll be good with the pictures in the manual because of the color coded lines included. Super easy. I had a previous system in place before I installed the RO-90, and the time it took to disassemble the old one and install the new one was about 40 minutes. The hardest part is probably drilling a couple holes to mount the filters, and even that takes less than a minute (make sure you level the filters). Side note: I hooked up my old 4 gallon tank in addition to the one that came with the kit and installed a permeate pump (Aquatec ERP-500) that is slightly underpowered, but still works awesome. Both tanks were full in about 2.5 hours and gave me about 7 gallons of water. Neither of these items is included, but I'd recommend purchasing a permeate pump at a bare minimum, look them up, as they make the entire system much more efficient. Water quality: Pictures speak for themselves. PPM dropped from 311 to 42 on the first tank. I expect this will go down after filters have a chance to break in and lines are cleared. Water ph went up which I wasn't expecting but maybe this will go down too after a couple tanks (you NEED to fill the tank entirely after install and drain it completely before drinking the water, dont raw dog it right off the bat). I haven't had a chance to taste the water, but I'm sure it will be fine. I'm not a taste snob. As long as the water is wet, I'm good. It definitely looks better if that matters. Cost Its fair. Worth the extra bucks for the high output in my opinion. Lot of people get turned off by from RO systems by slow output. Permeate pump and this system alleviate that. Secondary tank is huge for me with how much water I go through, but it's not necessary if you only use a couple gallons a day. Final thoughts 4 stars. Very, very easy install and immediate results that I expect will get better with each tank. System without a pump is good, but still slow. Tank capacity isn't a true 4 gallons (the air bladder takes up room) and can empty quickly if everyone is filling up water bottles and coffee pots in the morning). I think a permeate pump is a must buy, and a secondary / bigger tank if you have a lot of people or down some serious water. Very happy with the purchase, shipping speed, and will recommend it for anyone looking for better water. Absolutely worth the purchase, water is so important for good health! ... show more
