I was gifted an amazing backyard hammock from a friend but didnt have a stand. So I bought a stand on amazon, and it turns out the hammock was for looks only. You would immediately sink to the ground. Im only 150 lbs. Even my 7 year old would graze the grass. I had been wanting a hammock for years, so I was extremely disappointed. Well other backyard hammocks were expensive, and I couldnt see myself spending $70 for something that might not work again. I saw this one and hoped beyond hope it would be ok to use for a stand. It can. I LOVE this thing. At first I was afraid it was too small for the hammock, but with a little stretch it fit. As you can see my dog and I are both fans. We also saved the tree straps for a possible trip later. Worth every penny. Also, I dont sink to the ground at all. ... show more

    • Sturdy, survivable in weather!

i weight more than 300 lbs and I feel perfectly safe in this hammock. Hung this between 2 trees in my yard and it is beautiful and sturdy! I've had it out continually (even through a hurricane and other storms in Florida heat and humidity) and it has held up fine and kept its color. I wanted it more for aesthetic reasons than longevity, so if you want it to last longer probably don't leave it out when not in use; it's made out of cotton so while it's held up fine in the month or 2 I've had it I imagine it will start aging quicker from rain etc. It took a little effort to get the metal clips around the loops which could be frustrating if you are frequently taking it down and putting it back up; the clips are strong but the clasp part seemed a little loose, like it would easily slide out of alignment with frequent use. The straps feel like car safety belt material. i wasn't sure how the friction would hold; fortunately my trees have thick knots at good heights so I looped it around the tree above the knot to keep everything in place. So far they have been very stable. the last bit of advice; the fabric is quite stretchy! I recommend hanging higher than you thought originally, as high as you can while still being able to get in the hammock! And unlike ENO or other camping hammocks, the instructions recommend putting less tension on the straps, so hang the straps high and with enough give for the whole system to sag down a bit. ... show more

Lately I’ve been faced with a dilemma: I love patios! But my apartment building doesn’t have one. I love the outdoors! But I have to walk or drive multiple minutes just to find a suitable spot to relax… As you can imagine, I’ve grown weary dreaming of all the time I could be spending lounging in the beautiful Boston weather listening to neighbors arguing about kitchen appliances. That’s when it hit me. There’s always been a place I could do this…and it was right under my nose the whole time! (or should I say, my SHOES) So I waltzed outside of my apartment, measuring tape in hand, and sized up my staircase. Perfect dimensions. I hastily opened Amazon and ordered the best affordable cotton hammock and BOOM, before I could even blink, it had finally arrived. The setup was remarkably easy — all it took was wrapping the hooks a few times and clipping in. Then, it was prime relaxing time. Believe me when I tell you I’ve never felt more comfortable in my entire life. Cradled like a small infant, I quickly regressed into a childlike form. In this new yet familiar vessel, I scampered to preschool, ate two fruit roll ups, and shoved the square blocks in the circle hole. Before I knew it, it was 12:30pm — nap time. I doze off…then I awaken…25 years old and covered in mosquito bites. The hammock was too comfortable and I must’ve fallen into a deep slumber. It was all a dream…or was it? We may never know. But I know one thing. This hammock has changed my life, opened up my sigma male mindset to new experiences and altered states of consciousness. I’ve never had a hammock before and I’m so excited about this one! It was actually the first thing I bought for our new house lol. It’s so comfy and a perfect size! The last people that lived in our home left two massive metal awning polls into the patio cement so we attached it to those and it works so well and looks beautiful. My husband, two boys (1.5 and 4.5 years), and myself can all fit in it lol. It’s long enough to completely stretch out. And it can easily unclip to bring in whenever it rains and to wash it regularly which I really like. And also because I hate spiders and don’t want to leave it out and have it become a spider home so I bring it inside at night lol ... show more

I was so surprised by the quality of this hammock at its price point. My mom asked for it as a gift and I told her at this price it’d be cheaply made and downright dangerous. I was totally wrong. She was able to stretch it between two luckily placed palm trees on the edge of the lake behind her house and It is GREAT. Sturdy, easy to put up. She takes it down in about a minute when we’re expecting rain to extend its life. I was really surprised by the quality of this hammock. I’d recommend trying this one out if you’re thinking about getting a hammock to sling between two trees, before you spend a bunch of money needlessly on a more expensive hammock. I haven’t napped or spent hours in this hammock so I can’t comment on the comfort level over a long period of time, or a whole night. But for lounging in for a small time with a beer watching the sunset, or for guests to enjoy during a party, it’s worth trying this one. ... show more
