The pad itself is a great size. I have two dogs that easily fit on it. It makes sense to own one of these so that the dogs can still go out on the porch and stay warm. It does get warm, but not too hot for the dogs. The included blanket is cute but it has a couple of seams that could have been better or just be one seam. I know from experience that my dogs love to find a seam to tear into. The blanket is very soft and the dogs love a good soft blanket. The pad itself is plug and play. I plugged it in and there were no controls. It took a few minutes and got warm. The pad does appear to be of good thick quality. ... show more

Purchased this to use on an enclosed porch for cat. No adjustable thermostat, just plug and play. Includes blanket, pad and cord. Warning sheet with instructions is clearly readable. So far cat seems to like it.
