The media could not be loaded. This Avhrit 110Volt-AC 4-1/2 inch 10Amp Model AG033 angle grinder is a nice, powerful, medium-sized grinder. It serves not only as a grinder but also can cut and polish, too. And it is sweet that it comes with multiple cutting, grinding and polishing discs in the kit. And it also comes with gloves and safety glasses. (Who among us does not want to try out a new toy as soon as it arrives? And so having the proper safety gear contained within the kit helps avoid accidents caused by over-eagerness to try out that new toy before putting on the proper safety glasses, etc.) And i like that the body outer surface is non-metallic since despite always trying to pay attention to proper electricity safety rules (use only polarized outlets and use only properly grounded outlets) the use of non-conducting plastic on the tool outer is just one more safety features that is appreciated by those, like me, who find unexpected electrical shocks to be quite unpleasant. And the tool is designed to feel good in the hands, sturdy and comfortable, too. The tool is heavy enough to feel brawny yet still light enough to use for an extended period of time. (The instructions state that it should not be powered ON for more than 30min at a time; And then be allowed to cool down for 15min between uses.) There is some minor assembly involved. There is a hand grip that can be installed either for right-handed or left-handed operation or installed in the center position if that makes it better for your particular use case. And the safety guard requires a phillips-type screwdriver to install it. There is no phillips screwdriver included in the kit, but most every handyman has at least one of those easily available so that should not present an issue. There is a handy wrench that does a nice job of securing the grinding, cutting, polishing discs. (Look to the instructions if you have any questions about how to install the discs or the safety guard.) The instructions are well-written which is always appreciated. The first task i tried it on was cutting a piece of scrap tubing that was too long to fit in the recycling bin. And the grinder did not disappoint - it sliced through the tubing “like a hot knife through butter.” (And yes - i had been too lazy to pull out a hacksaw and cut-it-up manually. After all, why not make use of electricity if it is available, amiright ?) One note of caution, though - this little thing definitely sounds scary when you first start it up. It’s powerful. It’s not a tool you should trust to someone who is careless or not well-enough trained to use such a powerful device. ¡ Safety First, Second, and Always ! I ordered this because I needed an angle grinder for projects around the house. This angle grinder works well for my projects. It is a real powerhouse at 10 amps! I like that it comes with plenty of accessories like cutting grinding, and sanding flap discs. It also comes with some gloves, safety glasses, and instructions. I like that the right-angle handle can be installed and moved easily between three positions. The shield also rotates to accommodate a variety of work angles.     • It cuts and it grinds just fine
I have a battery powered grinder that chews through batteries very quickly and needed something more reliable and on the cheaper side. So, I decided to try out this grinder and I haven't been disappointed yet. My first caveat is that during the winter months I haven't had many projects to try this out on. But for the few projects I have used this on, it has worked better and obviously has more lasting power than my battery powered grinder.     • A rugged grinder that was comfortable to use

I just put this grinder through a 2 hour torture test and am mostly pleased with it. I used it to strip decades of layers worth of paint from an old metal patio chair. During the process I consumed 9 flap discs over the course of 2 hours of non-stop use. The tool never bogged down and never overheated. Even more impressive, my hands were not numb or tingling after I was done. Normally when I use a grinder or sander mu fingers quickly develop a tingling sensation from the tool's vibration. I usually wear anti-vibration gloves to help, but today I left them in the garage and told myself I would go get them once my fingers got tingly. Well, after 2 hours of almost non-stop use, my hands felt fine! I did not expect a $40 tool to run so smooth, I am impressed. Another thing I liked was the large spindle lock button. It was easy to find without looking and easy to hold down when changing discs. The side handle screws directly into the tool body, so you are limited to 3 positions, but it is rock solid compared to handles that attach to a collar. The handle is also large and a comfortable shape. Last, the power switch is easy to operate one handed and it locks on. Its nice not to have to constantly hold down the button. I only have two complaints about the tool. One is minor, one a little more serious. First, the minor complaint. You need a special wrench to change discs, which is normal, but there is nowhere on the tool to store the wrench. My old grinder stored the wrench inside the handle so you always had it with you. This wrench is going to get lost if you aren't careful. I ended up putting a small carabineer through it and clipping it to the power cord. Now the more serious complaint. The lock-on switch does not turn off if the tool gets unplugged. Most tools have a feature where the on switch pops into the off position if power is lost. This is an important safety feature which keeps the tool from unexpectedly turning on when you plug it in. With this tool, if it accidentally gets unplugged, it will start up as soon as you plug it back in, potentially ruining your work piece or injuring someone. Be sure to manually switch it off before plugging it in. ... show more
