  • Very handy
Very handy high quality tool works great with many different bits.

  • Manage your expectations
I am an industrial mechanic (think oil rigs, oil refineries, power plants, etc), it is a fast paced, heavy duty environment. The idea of a cordless die grinder has always been alluring to me given the sometimes remote areas I work in. This is an excellent product. The RPMs (0 - 21,000) are governable depending on how much you squeeze the trigger, which is nice for carbide burr bits, and the tool is light weight and easy to manipulate. I saw in previous reviews that people are having difficulty inserting quarter inch accessories into the collet. This is typical with new die grinders and gets easier over time. Unscrewing the collet just a little more will allow the bit to be inserted. I also saw that some people were having trouble removing a bit, that is the point of what is quite frankly a dangerous tool. Smacking the collet with the provided wrench after loosening it, releases the bit. This is true for every die grinder. All this said. This is not a heavy duty tool, however, DIYers or hobbyists would love it. If you're imagining a pneumatic die grinder that you've used in the past, you will be disappointed. Under heavy duty loads (cutting through greater than 1/16 inch metal with a cut off wheel, pressing firmly into a work piece with a carbide burr) the tool does bog down and sometimes stall. This tool is for light applications, if you're OK with that, this tool will serve you well and you'll enjoy using it. ... show more

  • you will not believe me!
You wil not BELIEVE, what this did for me. I'm a perfessional yet still intermediate mechanic of two years. This tool i purchased to clean wheel hubs and it had a wire wheel on it when i went to work today. I just bought this straight grinder after buying a milwaukee angle die grinder from cornwell last week. i ordered a 1/8 burr on accident then ordered a 1/4 carbide burr set for this grinder from amazon too. i go to work today and turns out i have to drill out a broken exhaust bolt on a 2011-ish honda accord. i cant fit my milwaukee drill in their or my 90 degree air drill. i remembered my old blue point air drill and i started drilling and learning a lesson on pilot holes and sizing up to cut rather than just picking a bit and going with that.. anyways i was using hypersteps. it was slow drilling with the small bit bits, sizing up ut then i grab with die straight die grinder, put in a pointy carbid bit and opened up the hole i was slowing frilling into.. the small hyper step sizes dont have the step parts.. so after i used this die grinder and a carbide burr to open and even center the hole, i moved up about three to four drill sizes into the drill sizes that have hyper steps and they absolutely DESTROYED this rusted out fastener and cut all the way through. i then chose the die grinder and the carbide burr option again at max 21,000 rpm to open up the hole and the tool THROWS the old bolt OUT revealing threads!! the threads only need a chaser to work out and the exhaust will be repaired. AMAZING!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA, just how cool that really is. ... show more

  • Oozes Quality
This tool oozes the quality typical of Milwaukee's tools. Perfect weight and very, very little vibration when running, even at top speed. There are three settings for maximum speed and the tool is variable speed via use of the trigger pressure up to the maximum speed set. Has enough torque to get any reasonable job done - I suspect operator hand strength will be the limiting factor most of the time. Very highly recommended. ... show more

  • Good medium duty die grinder
Purchased this because I have been doing more and more work in the field where often there is no plug in around convenient to the work site. Have been happy with this one but wish it had a bit more power for heavier grinding. However this grinder works very well and is great for light to medium grinding. Love the three speed choices as you can slow down for utilizing sanding discs or other not as fast uses, yet retain the higher speeds for carbide burrs. Love it in spite of wishing for mor power for big jobs ... show more
