  • Features E-Switch Protection - When the ON/OFF trigger switch has a no-volt release function. In the event of a power outage or other unexpected shut down, the trigger switch will need to be cycled (turned off and then on) to restart tool.
  • Two stage trigger requires two actions to activate tool.

Description

This brushless small cordless angle grinder requires no time changing brushes, and offers a longer motor life. DEWALT cordless grinder offers a high level of protection. Its break stops the wheel in 2 seconds or less. The Kickback Break engages maximum force to stop the wheel when there is a pinch, stall, or bind- up to reduce kickback. The grinder will also shut off in those events to further protect the user. Battery and charger are sold separately.

So far just used for twisted wire brush on rust, worked great, with little drain on a generic 4Ah battery. Weight is fine, balance good. I like the hex wrench system for tightening the arbor screw; much more likely to be readily available if the provided wrench is lost or forgotten. 6K RPM's plenty adequate for light to moderate jobs. Tool seems well thought out to me. The complaints about stopping with overheating and binding are a little hard to understand given that these are built in safety and longevity features thoroughly covered in the instructions. This is not equal to a plug in tool, as is true of all battery powered tools. I expect if a constant heavy load is put on it the battery will run down quickly, and the motor is likely to overheat given the constraints of battery powered tools. Just physics, folks. If you want 10K+ RPM and ability to do constant heavy cutting or grinding, use something with a cord! ... show more

Angle Grinder for Carving and Sculpting Wood Once you pick a certain brand of cordless tools, you’ll likely need to stick with that brand to simplify the charging process. It also qill provide you with a few more battery packs at your disposal when you’re using a tool frequently. As you might suspect, I picked DeWalt as my go-to brand and have invested in a few of their cordless tools. The power and reliability are good, and for some tools (like this one), the versatility is a game changer. When combined with a Kutzall carving blade, this tool making it super easy to carve and sculpt hard wood. I’ve been working on Maloof style rocking chairs most recently and accessibility to the deepest corners of the chair is key. Contractor of 30 yrs experience here. It's pretty good, only bought because my truck is all Dewalt. My corded Makita's are amazing! This feels too long and off balance for some reason...Dewalt?! The quick change system is pretty nice though.

This one was a replacement for the first one I bought by accident (DeWalt DCG405B) with the side button. Sorry but I just cannot get around how dumb and unsafe that side button design is. I've worked around heavy industrial construction sites for the last 25 years and never seen the side locking button grinder. Only the grip paddle. Pretty sure the reason it it's awkward and unsafe. Someone please show me I'm wrong. This grinder is excellent. ... show more
