  • New Favorite RC Car
Color: Teal Size: 1:12
I haven’t reviewed much lately, but this is worthy of a 5 star rating. I own multiple rc’s (mostly arrma 1/10 and 1/8) and bought this one as more of an expensive gimmick that would burn out in a week… couldn’t have been more wrong. This car is legit. Incredibly durable, fast, agile, and most of all FUN. I drive this around the driveway and street more than any of my other vehicles. Friends are shocked at how quick it scoots and the kids love chasing it around. I’ve cartwheeled this thing a few hundred times, accidentally bashed into tires and trash cans, and skidded upside down a quarter mile and the worst that has happened is a bent front shock tower (which I just bent back into place). Two things I’ll mention / the transmitter works but I am not a fan. I swapped that out for the same combo used on the Rlaarlo buggy. Also - the wheel nuts are pain. Check them before every drive and buy some after market replacements asap. I modified the battery compartment with a stemmed and made space for a slightly thicker battery. I run a shorty 2s 5000mah with a piece of duct tape along the width and have no issues. Lasts a good 12-15 minutes of HARD driving (much longer if you’re just pleasantly tooling around). I’d estimate speed around 40 mph - it’s quite a site seeing a pretty little package this small race around at those speeds! Handling is great too. Definitely meant for street and possibly hard dirt, but any type of grass will slow this thing down to the point where it’s not fun. Tires burn down fairly quickly but replacements are cheap - I may search for an aftermarket pair. Ok I think that’s all she wrote. Love this little fire cracker ... show more

  • Solid performance, upgrade and replacement parts abound.
Color: Cyan Size: 1:14
This is a good quality car built on a well established platform. Parts availability is top notch, both from this manufacturer and many aftermarket. The buggy came well set up from the factory, grease in the differentials, good oil level in the shocks. I found no loose screws, and the camber and toe were fairly well set up. Speed on 2S was between 25 and 30 mph, I did not use gps to be sure though. Handling is good, the car is stable and not prone to rolling during turning or when hitting bumps. The front end is very exposed however, and if you are not an experienced driver I would highly recommend the bumper that they included with the car. Upgrades are cheap and plentiful, and the cars perform very well on brushless. Be aware if upgrading that the spur and pinion us 0.7 mod gears, which are rare, and the 27 tooth pinion is very tall gearing for a smaller brushless motor. I have the monster truck version of this car which I converted to brushless, and I was able to find a 15 tooth 0.7 mod pinion which works perfectly with a 2845 brushless motor. The stock servo is a 3 wire micro servo, which helps a little when switching over to brushless. Transmitter is not the greatest, and range is a little short, keep the car within 150 feet or risk losing control. All told, the car is good quality, and performs very well at this price point. The plastics are thicker and more flexible then many competitors, and the steel parts seem to be hardened as well. The body shell on this car is pretty thick and sturdy, and conforms closely to the chassis, preventing much dirt and debris entering, but also prevents much airflow reaching the heatsink. Heat is an issue on the motor, especially if you increase the tire size as I did. Recommend either a thermal pad under the motor or thermal silicone to transfer motor heat to the metal chassis for greatly improved heat dissipation. Dogbones in rear, CVD in front, both using the pinless style axles. Pinless axles seem to be more durable than the standard pin style 12m hex system, I have not had any bends or snaps yet on my out drive cups. ... show more

  • Perfect fit and finish
Color: Blue Size: 1:14
On and off 40 years RC experience. From the smallest up to nitro 1/5. This little RTR buggy is awesome. Nothing to assemble and it's fast and fun. Imagine dreading shopping with your wife. You stay in the parking lot with a few batteries that charge via USB and you are good to go. I run the stock 2S battery. #s will get it faster. While an off road buggy, asphalt seems to be best for fast runs and no tipping over. This thing is just awesome for the price point. It's a no-lose purchase. ... show more

  • Awesome little car with two potential problems
Color: Cyan Size: 1:14
I got this car against my gut instinct. I really liked the look, the spare parts, the overall power potential, and the durability. It was a lot of fun and a new type of car for me. I would say it got around 25-30mph on a 2s battery and closer to 40mph with 3s. It has a LOT more energy and punch to it with the 3s. BUT, there were two problems I had with it that you'll want to consider. 1. The steering is too sensitive. If you're going to control this at higher speeds, this thing is tricky to keep from spinning out. It turns too much even when you barely turn the control. I'm a good driver and was able to eventually compensate for it, but after trading it in for a different buggy you'll see what I mean. 2. As a couple others have mentioned, the motor gets hot really fast. I suspect it's because the gearing ratio is super high. It goes pretty fast with a 2s, and too fast with a 3s, but it gets hot in no time. I ended up burning it up with just a little bit too much playing around with a 3s. I was bummed, but AMORIL was great in offering a 30 day no questions asked refund. So for that this gets 4 stars. If you're not as aggressive in your driving and looking for something more entry level but still hobby type grade, this is a great option. Just don't put a 3 cell battery in it and you'll be fine. I ended up replacing it with the WLtoys 124017 brushless version which was a little bit more $$, but solved both of these issues. The steering control on it is great, it's super fast and punchy, and doesn't get too hot even with a 3 cell battery. And crazy fast. NOTE: You will need to adjust the toe/camber alignment on the front and rear axles since it is way out of whack from the stock setup. Do some google research to learn how to do that and you'll be fine. ... show more
